okay that’s my short and sweet answer!! all of my rambling is below the cut. ↓

I’m gonna get a little personal here sorry…

4 almost as long as I can remember I’ve always been a shy kid, though I’ve been told I used 2 talk 2 anyone. I can ( could? it’s gotten a little better over the years? ) barely speak 2 anyone without thinking about it 4 a STUPID long time, and by the time I mustered the courage Ive missed my chance…

not just that, but the unrelenting bullying and issues I had at home only destroyed the shreds of self confidence I had ^_^”

due 2 my timid nature and lack of confidence, I never made many friend and anyone I met didn’t stuck around long. thinking my long-term friends are merely tolerating me is not a new thought. I think it’s safe 2 say I’ve always been kinda lonely!

this is where Yugi comes in!!! ^w^

seeing a character that started off shy and uncertain gain confidence in himself makes me kinda hopeful I can do similarly, and I think his wish upon the puzzle 4 true friends resonated with me as well. I can’t even begin 2 tell you how many times I’ve had that same wish 4 myself.

his development throughout the series means SO much 2 me and I think Yugi is such an amazing character.. it’s hard not 2 get attached 2 him!!!

It doesn’t help that he’s SO CUTE!! although he looks adorable no matter what, I really like that we have similar stylistic choices. actually, I have a choker similar 2 his….. every time I wear it I think of him… hehe…

UHHH POINT IS I LIKE YUGI BECAUSE I CAN SEE ASPECTS OF MYSELF IN HIM WHICH GOT ME KINDA ATTACHED. AND HES A CUTIE.

something I really appreciate about the Yugioh dub is during the orichalcos arc, in the time Mai distances herself from the gang ( more-so Joey ), she stops calling Joey by his given name and switches 2 his last name.

I think this abrupt lack of familiarity she shows toward him makes her dialogue — and the overall shift in their dynamic — sting a lot more. as I watch this season I can’t stop thinking about this change… I think it’s super neat, even if it hurts at times! ^_^”
