After graduation Laya took her NEWTS before starting her training as an Unspeakable. She loved her work, diving into it, as she researched and played with difficult concepts. Laya mainly works in the brain room, and she is never bored because of it.

Despite her stance on love and relationships she does eventually fall in love and had kids. It was a surprise to her, but all in all she never regretted her decision. Apparently her friends at Hogwarts were correct, she just needed to find the right person at the right time.

“Yeah. Maybe it’s good though, that we can get a chance to step back for a moment and really try to figure everything out.”

“Yeah, I think so too. I’m sure we’ll all figure it out.”

Gabi smiled at the other girl before shrugging and agreeing. “I suppose I should take advantage of the last dance of the year,” she said as they walked to the dance floor.

“You should definitely take advantage of it,” Laya said as she walked onto the dance floor with her classmate.

“Definitely no,” Aidan said. “Feet are not my thing,” he admitted. Then he nodded. “Oh the woes of womanhood.”

“The one of many,” Laya said with a smile. “I think I have one more in me if, you know, someone were to ask me to dance.”

“I didn’t know you were into that? Well I’m sold then. We’re smoking one just to celebrate.”

Laya took the spliff taking a quick drag. “Eventually you’ll have to quit that.”

“I’m not the greatest,” she admitted to her. “But… maybe it won’t be horrible,” she agreed.

“We just need to have some fun. We’ll worry about right or wrong and being good later.”

“Getting married, and… trying to find out who I really am, I guess,” she said seriously. “There’s… a lot to do.”

“Oh, you wanted to dance?” Hannah asked, for clarification.

“Of course, come on Hannah let’s do this.”

“Well you might, but that doesn’t make it any less true,” Rory pointed out. “So it’s a good skill to have regardless.”

“Well, thank you, I guess.” She looked up at Rory before speaking again. “So do you have plans for after this?”

“Just your feet? Nothing but that?” he asked, a little teasingly. “If only you had someone to rub your feet. But you’re independent.”

“Are you offering?” Laya said amused. “Just want to clarify before moving on. But yes just my feet... I think I wore the wrong shoes.”

Gabi wrinkled her nose, “I haven’t decided if I feel like dancing or not,” she said, as she watched people start to file onto the dance floor and the music morphed into something peppy with a nice beat.

“You should!” Laya encouraged. “I’ll dance with you.”

Aidan was trying to have some fun, dancing around and trying to forget about everything. He took a much needed break to go take a seat, smiling across at the person already there. “You exhausted, too?”

Laya had spent the night dancing with various people, but soon she found that her feet were beginning to kill her. She walked over to take a seat then looked up at Aidan who addressed her. “My feet definitely are.”

“G-Getting the look down before a-actually getting there.” Albert chuckled, “I-Is that where that s-saying ‘dress for the job you want’ c-comes from?”

“Yes, you are definitely dressing the part, so now it is inevitable.”

“It’s not a skill to scoff at, either,” she said. “Sometimes paperwork is all that people see before they judge you.”
