Frankenstein: The Monster Returns (NES) "Ghost developer" TOSE is believed to have developed this 1991 hack-and-slash platformer for the NES. Hard to confirm, since they rarely were credited for their work. The game was distributed by Bandai. Nintendo Power gave the game special coverage in its review section.

Conquest of the Crystal Palace (NES) 01 Beginning Asmik's 1990 hack-n-slash platformer was known as Matendōji (Demon Heaven Boy) in Japan. Some of the developers would eventually create the Ogre Battle series.The game has a dog that attacks everything that moves, and an anime gal who sells you stuff in the middle of violent skirmishes. The game was praised for its addictive gameplay progression by Video Games & Computer Entertainment magazine.

Life Force (NES) 01 Stage 1 Konami ported its 1986 arcade game, Salamander, to the NES. In North America, it was known as Life Force (no relation to the 1985 Tobe Hooper space vampire film). No Konami code was used in the capturing of this video. Darn kids.

This 1990 title is a top-down game where your character freezes enemies with icy breath, then pushes the into the water to form ice bridges, which expands the playfield. You can also generate and remove ice pillars to stop any blocks you push.

Nintendo Power designated Kickle Cubicle one of the NES's most underrated titles.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers (NES) Capcom's co-op NES game, based on the Disney Afternoon series. This footage was captured in single-player mode. The soundtrack is notably catchy, while the grab-and-throw action is suitably madcap. The game is rather easy, and can be completed in about an hour.
