I'm taking this surprisingly well.
I know I know I know…. everyone’s real mad and hurt that the writers brought Mickey back just to have him leave. But here’s the thing, if this just so happens to be the end of the show all together, I’d much rather have an ending so beautiful and triumphant than that bullshit from 5x12 where Ian was just like, “yeah, it’s over, bye.”
If the show comes back, Mickey will be back. I feel that in my heart. Also, with the ratings spike they received with Noel’s return, even those idiots can see they need to have him around to keep the show afloat anymore. I do believe there will be some magic Ex Machina wand that’ll expunge Mickey’s record and he’ll come back to the states and we can work from there to bring our boys back together.
But, if this really is the end… just see the big picture. Ian told Mickey how much he missed him and how much he meant to him; shit, guys, he gave him all of his fucking money that he worked his ass off for. They had some good times, made a little love and they finally talked about why Ian didn’t visit him in prison. And then he took a serious step in maturity and decided that having the beautiful memories of Mickey and having their love be a part, is much better than staying with him, becoming extremely paranoid about their situation and beginning to resent Mickey and have it end much more tragically. And honestly, there’s a moment where Mickey understands and mildly accepts it. Even if our version of a truly happy ending only lives in our hypothesizing or our writing or even in the actual show, it lives on.
