As we ate, Taiki Shuttle suddenly launched into a long ramble, taking breaks between bites to explain this was closer to grilling, and that real barbecue can take hours or even days. I was sort of glad she taught me something simple, I don't think I could've waited much longer for food.
"I'd love to do that for ya too, some day Trainer!" Taiki smiled brightly, sauce all over her face. I couldn't help but smile back. Taiki was like a personal ray of sunshine, always making me smile and warming my heart.
I realised though, that the sun had long set, and we we're only seeing by the lights on my back porch.
"Gosh Trainer! Would ya look at the time! I'll get in so much trouble not being in my dorm!" Taiki looked a little stressed. No wonder, getting yelled at by Hishi Amazon isn't fun. Still, I had issues with thinking of Taiki sneaking back in so late.
"I can probably just send a quick email and explain later Taiki, why don't you just stay here?"
"H-here?" Taiki suddenly turned a little red.
"I'd hate for you to walk all the way back in the dark, when I have a spare room. Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't get in any trouble." I pulled out my phone while I spoke, sending a quick email to both the Director and Tazuna, with Tazuna surprisingly answering immediately, understanding as long as it didn't become a habit.
Taiki Shuttle agreed, relaxing a bit after I showed her the email. I took her inside, let her borrow some pj's, and fell asleep pretty quickly.
I woke to the delicious smell of eggs, and discovered Taiki in my kitchen, having borrowed my apron and covered in flour. I wasn't even aware I had flour...
"Mornin' ya sleepyhead! I made pancakes an' eggs!" Taiki cheered, already making me sit down with a plate stacked high. I hadn't expected this at all, nor was I prepared for the sight of Taiki Shuttle in pj's and a borrowed apron. I couldn't help but notice she was rather pretty, especially with her signature beaming smile.
The pancakes were delicious, fluffy, and sweet. Taiki stared the entire time I ate.
"D-did ya like 'em?! I worked extra hard!"
"They were amazing, Taiki. But you're covered in flour. Now you have to shower before training even starts..."
"Oh...hehe.."
"You weren't hoping the food would distract me, would you? So I'd forget about training?" Truth was, I was thinking about letting her skip already, if that's what she wanted.
"Well...that wasn't the goal...I just wanted to make ya smile! But...if ya'd let me..." Taiki batted her eyes, and I felt my cheeks flush a little. She really was pretty, despite the flour.
"Fine..do whatever you'd like today, but tomorrow will be extra training to make up for it."
"Yahoo!" Taiki cheered. "...whatever I'd like..?" Taiki pondered for a moment, before her face went red like the night before. "Can..we go somewhere? Just you an' me? L-like a...date? Ya know..."
That was...sudden. But..now that she asked..
"I'd love to, Taiki. Anywhere you want, my treat."
"Really?! Ya mean it? I-I gotta cleaned up!" Taiki basically leapt, running to my bathroom.
I sort of laughed to myself, before realizing I too should get ready....

One day, after a long meeting, I was walking home. It had been forever since lunch, and the sun was already setting...I ended up thinking about how tomorrow was another training day with Taiki Shuttle when the memory of one summer camp came back...she had suprised me with a barbecue to thank me for taking care of her.
The memory nearly brought those flavors back into my mouth!
My stomach gurgling, my mouth watering, I basically forgot where I was walking. All I could see before me was those sizzling mushrooms, when bam! I knocked into someone! I nearly fell to the ground, but a strong arm caught me.
"Ah! Trainer!! What're ya doing here?!"
"Taiki Shuttle! Hi! Sorry, I didn't mean to bump you...I had a long meeting...I guess I got distracted since I haven't eaten since lunch."
Taiki Shuttle's entire body recoiled, her jaw dropping dramatically, and she leaped at me, hugging me tight, almost knocking me to the ground again.
"SINCE LUNCH?! Trainer!! Ya can't do that! Gosh, no wonder you looked so sad!" Taiki pulled away, then grabbed my hand, waving to the people she was talking with before.
"Sorry y'all, this is an emergency!! C'mon trainer, I'm taking ya to get some food in you right now!!"
Taiki took off, nearly in a dash, dragging me behind her.
"Ahhh,,, slow down!! I can't keep up-!"
"Trainer! If ya could have anything ya wanted right now! What'd it be?!" Taiki stopped suddenly, grabbing me by both shoulders.
"A-anything?" I had to take a moment to catch my breath before actually answering.
Hm...anything at all...the memory came back up again. Mushrooms...shellfish...all barbecued...
"Well...if I'm being honest...I haven't been able to stop thinking about that time you barbecued for me, Taiki. Is..maybe is there any way you could teach me how to do it? I have a grill just sitting at home...I didn't think about it before, but everytime I see it now I think about you."

"Huh? M-my barbecue?" I couldn't believe it! Trainer...they liked my barbecue so much they wanted to learn?!
"W-well gosh! Yeah! 'Course I can teach ya! We gotta hurry though! You're looking worse for wear the longer we wait! Let's go, go, go!" I grabbed my trainer by the hand again, being careful to slow down a bit! I wouldn't want them to trip!
I made sure we stopped at the closest and best store to get veggies, meat, everything ya could barbecue! Then Trainer showed me back to their house, and wow!!! It had the most beautiful grill and barbecue set out back! I couldn't believe Trainer just had this stuff siting around, unused!!
I had to get to work immediately!
"Okay Trainer! Here ya go! The most important part of barbecue, makin' sure the grill is lit hot enough, but not too hot! Don't put too much coal or too much lighter fluid, or the flames'll leap up and char everything!"
I watched as Trainer so so carefully lit the grill, and then pulled back when it actually lit. How silly..I couldn't help but laugh a little. I made sure to show trainer how to wrap the veggies in foil.
"Now, here's the second most important part! Veggies take waaayyy longer than meat, so ya gotta put them on first, kay? Make sure they go up on this top rack here. If they go on bottom, it'll be too hot! Ya don't want burned veggies." I watched Trainer as they nodded along, and they ever so gently set the foils of veggies on the grill. It was so cute how careful they were being! I wondered a little if they were scared of getting burned. That's what the tongs are for, silly!
I really couldn't believe Trainer had this kind of grill back here...it's really just like the one back home. I wanted to ask, but I figured feeding them comes wayy before that!
"So...how long do we let it sit there? What about the meat...you bought steaks..do they take long to cook?"
"Huh? Well, the veggies have to sit pro'lly ten minutes? Yeah. The steak won't take long at all, especially cause these Japanese steaks are so small! It'll only take 'em a few minutes on each side. Don't ya worry trainer, I'll have ya fed real soon!"
Once the veggies were mostly cooked, I showed them how to add the steaks to that bottom rack, and taught them how to know when to flip the steaks to the other side! Luckily, I've been grilling with these smaller Japanese steaks a good bit now, so I'm used to the shorter cook time! Before ya knew it, we were done!

By the time the food finished, I was hungry enough I was worried Taiki Shuttle could hear my stomach. It had actually been quite a bit of work to focus on actually learning the steps to barbecue through the hunger, but that first bite into that perfectly seasoned steak was genuinely heaven. The meat was so tender it basically melted into my mouth, and of course the wonderful taste of it being grilled made it all the better.
Could I get Taiki Shuttle x gn reader? Where Taiki Shuttle teaches them how to Bbq?

hello! I tend to lean more towards rarepairs, and my favorite within genshin just so happens to be Jeandou! (Jean x Beidou) and the cost of having a rarepair as a ship is having very little content of them, as you'd expect, so could I perchance request something of said ship to you? But anyways! HERE IS WHAT I HAD!! I'll probably add more to it ngl,,,
As the kingdom of Teyvat's Knight Grand Cross, and Her Highness Princess Klee's personal knight, Jean Gunnhilder stood for honor and all that was righteous. She stood brave in the heat of battle, strong in the midst of diplomatic attack, and fierce next to the young princess she was sworn to protect.
There was just one thing she couldn't stand;
The Princess's new guard.
A literal pirate from across the seas.
The Princess's laughed as she introduced them,
"You need someone to talk to other then me, Jean! So I saved this 'pirate' from execution and made her my guard as well! Now you can have a friend!"
Jean merely blinked, keeping her thoughts to herself.
She didn't need someone to talk to, or a friend, she needed to stay focused and defend her country and princess.
The new 'guard' also laughed at their first meeting.
"Hey! Im Beidou. I've never been a guard before, hopefully you can show me the ropes, yeah?"
"...You're a knight now. Behave like one."
Jean soon found training this woman wasn't easy-
Beidou was horribly overconfident. Yes, she could use a sword, but it was no where near as clean as a knight's bladework. She was crude, rude, and over all just ridiculous.
"No. Like this. Do it again."
Jean struggled most with teaching this woman proper footwork. It was a nightmare.
And yet, as she watched Beidou swing her sword wrong again and again, part of Jean somewhat enjoyed the challenge. It felt as if the princess did this on purpose, to see if she could train anyone to be a good knight, as the Queen and King boasted so often.
As for Beidou, she enjoyed purposefully messing up. If she didn't step right, or didn't swing right, Jean would stop her, grab her arm, and move it where it needed to be.
Beidou couldn't help enjoying the burning sensation she felt when Jean touched her, didn't matter if it was correcting her posture, barely brushing against eachother in the halls, anything.
She thanked the princess everyday for taking her in after she ran from home for her piracy, because if she hadn't been taken in, there'd be no way she would meet such a beautiful yet stubborn woman as Jean Gunnhilder.
And honestly, the relentless training was kind of fun. The posture Jean asked for felt stiff to Beidou, but she managed to get it mostly right in the end.

Many a weeks of harsh training (and Beidou falling head over heels, metaphorically) later, Jean decided it was time to up the regime.
Today, Beidou was going to have her first real duel with Jean.
Jean held her sword in hands, double checking it was sharp and ready for battle. Across from her, Beidou did just the same. Jean glanced up, hiding a small smirk.
"Nervous? Or do you feel confidently ready?"
"Mmm...confident, always. Ready? Maybe..." Beidou pointed her blade towards her opponent. Was she ready to fight? Yes. Ready to see Jean in full action? Who knows. Maybe her heart will go too fast and she'll fold over...
As Beidou nearly got lost in the thought, Jean took a forceful step forward, swinging her sword towards Beidou's midsection. Beidou barely brought her sword over in time, the clash of steel ringing in her ears.
"Woah. Not even taking it easy on me?" Beidou chuckled, but she nearly lost her guts there.
"How will you defend Her Highness if I go easy on you? The enemy won't." But Jean knew she would've stopped her blade. She wouldn't hurt anyone who was truly on the side of Princess Klee, even if they were a criminal.
Jean pulled her sword away, yet quickly swung it again. Steel clashed on steel, over and over, until both women were exhausted, drenched in sweat. Beidou panted, unsure if she could keep up after this. Even if she could do it, the tight footwork was still something that took a toll on her. You can take a pirate from the sea, but never the sea from a pirate, after all.
Jean sighed, lowering her sword.
"Keeping up with me isn't something many can do. And you're able to keep your feet in the right place." Jean sheathed her blade before reaching up and adjusting her ponytail.
"...Does that mean I'm done?" Beidou dropped her sword, leaning over with her hands on her knees. She needed a stretch after that for sure.
"Done? A knight is never done. But your formal training? Mm. I guess it has finished. But you'll still need to keep practicing every day." Jean smirked towards Beidou, now noticing how toned she had gotten with the rigorous training. Not that she wasn't toned before... ahem. Jean was proud of what she had accomplished, getting those feet to follow the pattern, that blade to arch properly.
Beidou couldn't help but blush at Jean's seemingly endless staring.
"What're you looking at Miss Grand Cross?" She stood back up, smiling a little. She couldn't help but want Jean to like her. If Jean liked her... maybe those burning touches wouldn't end so quickly.
Jean didn't realise she was staring, and couldn't resist her cheeks turning red.
"I...was admiring how well I've trained you. Don't you dare take it as anything else!" She stammered, unsure, since she had been looking at Beidou's muscles, after all.
Beidou couldn't help but quietly giggle to herself, she had never seen Jean lose a single bit of her composure before. Just as she was about to make another smart remark, joyful cheering caught both her and Jean's attention over to Princess Klee, who was charging her way down a flight of stairs towards them.
"Did you do it!? Jean is she graduating now??!!" The Princess breathlessly made her way next to Beidou, not at all worried about the blade laying haphazardly on the ground.
"Oh how wonderful! Now you can really start staying by my side as a knight, and that way Jean will always have two people to talk to, instead of just me!!" She reached up to pat Beidou on the shoulder, which made Jean shake her head. Klee never really was one to follow proper royal etiquette.
"Well...if it's what Her Highness asks, I'll gladly talk to Miss Grand Cross. Word is law and all that, right?" Beidou smirked again, looking a Jean teasingly.
To the wonderful person who requested Jean x Beidou from me, I promise I am working on it, I actually went through heart surgery, new job, ect, and entirely forgot Tumblr existed as a whole. It's been like an entire year or something, but I WILL finish it eventually. šš

I personally am not a massive fan of Hyoga in general, and can't get myself to write him...I tried really hard, searching online for other content to reference, but I just don't get the dynamic at all.
