Productivity Tip
Your brain needs uninterrupted study time. When studying, make sure your phone isn’t a distraction.
Turn off notifications. Set your phone to Do Not Disturb (if necessary you can set the phone to “still receive calls from...” and then let that person know to call instead of text you if necessary). Or set you phone to Airplane Mode to ensure no interruptions.
Now, start concentrating on studying!
Strong push through the end, Kohawks!

Note taking...how we feel.
Small Bites: Note Taking Tip #6
As soon as you can after class, go through your notes. While the content is fresh, fill-in missing information, look up concepts/words you’re unsure of, and organize for clarity. Schedule a small chunk of time (15-20 minutes) to complete this simple task after every class.
Small Bites: Note Taking Tip #5
Taking notes on your laptop or device? Avoid distractions: TURN OFF THE WIFI.
Small Bites: Note Taking Tip #4
If your professor makes them available on Moodle or elsewhere, READ the PowerPoints or outlines before class.
Small Bites: Note Taking Tip #3
Keep your system simple. Maybe you’ve seen the fancy (read time-intensive) notes on Pinterest or elsewhere on Tumblr. If that’s your thing and it helps you, go for it. If it’s not already something you do, don’t go there. Keep it SIMPLE.
Small Bites: Tip #2
Notice what’s missing? The part that says “record every word the professor says”. Keep your notes short. No paragraphs allowed; incomplete sentences are welcome here.
Small Bite: Effective Note Taking Tips
Follow along for a series of “Small Bites” = one simple tip to improve your note taking and study habits over the next two weeks.
TODAY: Get organized and don’t stop till you’re proud. Create one central place to keep everything related to a specific course. It could be a binder, a gDoc folder or Google Document, or a notebook within your favorite note taking app on your device. Whatever or wherever, try to keep all content related to a course organized and TOGETHER.
