Hi I’m Synth and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! This is where I’ll be posting or at least reblogging all my art from now on, after realising that anyone new finding my main blog may not realise that I do art. I aim to make connections, get commissions, and above all make people happy through creating for them! 🧡

I won't be doing art comms (as in drawing) for the foreseeable future as I've been finding it harder and harder to make good art or even draw at all (not fishing for compliments here lol just letting y'all know), causing me to be unreliable, which is not fair on the hypothetical customer! And embroidery is much better for me mental workload-wise. If you know what adhd is like, you'll know breaking down tasks into steps is one of the few ways of coping with it, and that itself is a much easier task for me with embroidery rather than drawing.

just feel like i should write this down somewhere. some of my worst adhd traits are these:

executive dysfunction. big obvious one. getting started, focusing on, and finishing tasks (even if they're 99% completed and we've just got one little thing left to do on them!) are each very hard for me, no matter how much i like whatever i'm doing or whatever work i'm working on. my attention span tends to have an "all-or-nothing" approach, and when i'm hyperfocused on something, i cannot change tasks and end up neglecting other needs and responsibilities.

time blindness. i have no idea what "late" is, whether that means late in the day or late as in deadlines. it's completely impossible for me to predict how long something will take, or how much time has passed. to help myself i try setting reminders for i.e. 10 minutes or an hour to help conceptualize time in my mind, but even that doesn't help most of the time.

forgetting. self explanatory but it really gets in the way and makes me waste time. this extends to my speech, which is doubly impacted by also being (diagnosed) autistic and having a speech impairment. sometimes i get that same mental block on speaking- both irl and online- as i get with every other adhd problem i have. frequently forgetting words and what i was going to say as i'm saying it is very frustrating.
