if you feel like you’re not up to par, write more! learn new words, read, take chances with your writing style. the only way you’ll get better is if you keep working at it

Booker looks to himself, too depressed to really fight back. "Learn to live with it. That's bullshit." He pushes off the wall he's been leaning on to face the clone with his full body. "That fucking bullshit and you know it!"

Booker has been wandering the underwater prison for too long. He doesn't know how long he has been here. With no sun, he can't determine when it is night, or when it is day. All the clocks have stopped at a certain time that could either be in the afternoon or at midnight. To be frank, it's driving him mad.

On top of the lack of knowledge of time, the amount of people that attempt to kill him isn't doing him justice. It's wasting his ammunition and time to find Elizabeth...which he is beginning to think she isn't here.

After the hours (or minutes or days) of wandering, Booker finds himself in an area that resembles a saloon. The bar in front and rooms in the back. While most of the rooms have a foul smell to it, he finds one that has no bodies, only a few splatters of blood. Booker moves to the mattress that lies on the floor and fixes it to be able to sleep on it. He's slept on better, but at this point, he doesn't care.

Booker ends up drifting off into slumber, but it lasts only minutes (or hours, or days) as he feels the prick of metal against his throat. Booker throws his arm up to smack away whatever it pricking him; the splicer shouts of obscenities as she flips away from him. Booker snags at the shotgun and lifts it, thus once she races back to him, Booker blows a hole through her stomach. The woman falls limply and Booker drops on to the mattress again.

"I pray you're not here, Elizabeth."

Booker doesn't want a gunshot to the head. That won't suffice.

He wants a slow and agonizing death.

Couldn’t exactly blame him for wanting to get out of there as fast as he could. Atlas didn’t have the heart to tell him escape was impossible unless he was up for an incredibly long swim, even so, it didn’t seem likely that he’d even begin to think of leaving without this ‘Elizabeth’ he seemed so adamant to find. So much so that he had the gall to demand the bodiless voice to search for her — now, in what universe would that ever happen? Up until now life in the ruined body of Rapture had been void of most distractions. Tucked away in a well preserved niche of the city, Atlas had been blessed with refuge from the mutated freaks that continued to stalk the hallways, free to do as he wished so long as he didn’t clue Ryan into where he was hiding. He wanted to keep it that way. The man made too much noise to simply leave him be, let him hunt for this girl of his. Too bad he couldn’t order him to smash his way through a nearby airlock and drown himself.

He only got more ridiculous at time went on, asking about books while he stood there in ankle deep water. What the splicers hadn’t torn apart had likely dissolved long ago in the salted water that lapped at their feet. But Atlas felt like humouring him — even if he’d been denied the friendly role he would still operate under that façade. Better that then having him believe he was talking to a monster.

"Still haven’t seen ‘er — m’sorry. Don’t y’worry though, I’ll make sure t’keep a look out, but there ain’t no places even I can think of that’d have those things," sighing, he did think of sending him to the Fort, only Cohen would then become involved and that would only irritate him further.

"Thanks, I'd appreciate that." Booker falls silent upon pondering Elizabeth's whereabouts. He knows she's a capable girl. She knows how to defend herself and remain in an area that has fewer threats. Yet, he still fears for her safety. He doesn't know what exactly the feeling is; it grows every single time he sees Elizabeth and parts from her.

Booker travels into the Kashmir restaurant, where he comes apart a bar. He moves to the counter to view what is left. "Atlas?" he pushes broken shards of glass out of the way to retrieve a pack of smokes. With his lips he slides one stick out. The fire on his left hand ignites and he uses the small flickers of flame to light the cigarette.

A slow drag goes in, and slowly he breathes it through his nose. It aids his tired and restless spirit. "What the hell happened here?"

« Nuh-huh —no spoilers for you, Mr. Dewitt. Everything will be dissipated in due time. » The scientist smirked, as a cold finger of hers tapped the humid lips of the ex-detective, before making a few steps back, her body flickering once again. Without Robert, by her side, her condition as a omnipresent being seemed to be rather unstable, she noticed —and this was going to deserve further studies.

« Until our next meeting, goodbye. » She saluted, bowing a little as she disappeared, right in front of his eyes.

"Spoilers?" he frowns, "listen, if you know something I don't--" Booker's words trail off when the woman's finger touches his lips. He takes in the scent of her perfume that lingers on her finger. He feels the silkiness of her flesh. He freezes against her touch as if it's a spell.

It has been a rather long time since he's been with a woman.

When she moves away does he snap out of it. He takes long stride to catch up to her. "Hey, wait!" before he knows it, she's gone. He stares at the empty space before him. "Wait...I need answers."
