By no means is this ALL of the witchy CC i have installed, but it is a lot of my favorites. Luckily, I have two finds blogs! The first is @carofindsโ which is where a lot of the general CC goes. The other is @faerunfindsโ for the more fantasy and medieval things go. But, for witches, theyโre pretty interchangeable, so take a look at both!
First, lemme shoutout some of my favorite creators for this sort of thing: @teanmoonโ, @zx-taโ, @plumbobteasocietyโ, @jools-simmingโ, @magnolianfarewellโ and @nolan-simsโ to name just a FEW. Youโll see them a few times on these lists.
Now then, onto the links!

there you have it! I probably missed a couple things tbh, so if I did, let me know and Iโll find it. I might do a cas one at some point but this alone was enough to bust me up for now. either way, I hope to do more stuff like this in the future!

How to Hide Plumbob and Keep Other Headline Effects
Do you want to hide the plumbob in your game but still want to see other headline effects like a simโs name and age? Here is how without needing to install a mod! This is a simple edit to the Default.ini file that is very easy to do. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being a piece of cake and 10 being way too tedious, I give it a 3. This file resets every time the game updates, so youโll have to do this over and over. I found it laborious at first, but after 4 years itโs second nature now.ย
Onto the good stuff!
NOTE: Itโs always a good idea to save a copy of a game file before you make changes just in case something happens and you need to revert to the default settings. Some suggest saving a copy as something likeย โdefaultoriginalโ in a DIFFERENT location. But, itโs your game. Do what you wanna do. (I hope somebody somewhere out there sang that lol)
1. Find the Default.ini in the Bin folder.
On Windows, the location isย C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin. Iโm ashamed to say I donโt remember the path on a Mac even though I played 2 years on one.
2. Open the file. You will make changes in the [Plumbob] section.
Refer to the picture below to make the following changes. My file is already edited, so you wonโt see the original values, but change everything underlined in red to 0.00.
The ones in blue control the clear icon when sims are in club meetings or groups. If you want to hide those as well, change everything underlined in blue to 0.00.
3. Save
If you did not do the whole save as thing, just save the file and close. If you did, be sure to save as Default.ini or the game will not be able to read it.
Just a quick mini tutorial on how to remove the dynamic shadows in TS4. I am all for dynamic shadows, but in my opinion, they have been poorly executed in TS4 so I found a way to turn them off for myself. I have been asked recently how I do it by @zhutra and @zellybeanie which reminded me that I was planning on writing up a tutorial for it.ย
Generally, dynamic shadows are not enabled in the low light settings, same with a lot of other effects that I wanted left on. This method allows you to just turn off SSAO without a hit to lighting quality like sun shadows. Do note, with every patch or repair game, this needs to be carried out again as the sgr file reverts back to its default state.ย
Update: If you are a Mac user and having issues finding the right file to edit, kiwisims4 gave a quick how-to on finding it. Find the post here:
okay as someone who spent four and a half years in QA I can sorta tell you what happened here. By the looks of it, they cut their entire QA team and turned to outsourcing (which isn't uncommon). This typically means that there's little to no contact between the departments and the lack of coverage means that there are literally not enough people to bug every issue. This pack is gonna be more than a little squiffy, by the looks of it, so back up your saves to be safe
As we all know, EA updated their hair colors to add new swatches. While that was cool and all, Iโm not totally happy with the swatches that they included because they looked bland and rushed to me. So, I made my own!
I thought it would be nice to share them, so here they are! Iโm not totally sure if many people would be interested, but thatโs okay <3
Hereโs a comparison of my gradients vs. the original EA textures
The most noticeable difference I think are the browns + some of the blondes.
HOW TO USE?
Import the .grd file to your photoshop
Load the texture (make sure to useย SWATCH 12 (Cheese Yellow) as a base for recoloring)
Click onย โNew Adjustment Layerโ (should look like a half-shaded circle)
Click on โGradient Mapsโฆโ and pick which gradient map you want to use. Feel free to drag parts of the gradient map until you get your desired color.
Save your texture and import to S4S.
NOTES
I donโt recommend using these gradient maps for the Salt and Pepper swatches (Swatch 23 and Swatch 24).ย Iโd personally just use the EA textures if they are available.
I personally recommend using the Cheese Yellow swatch as a base. However, I think using the lighter swatches will work the same.
