However. that information is only given to the player after this conversation has taken place. so for the duration of this scene it very much reads like geara is transphobic and actively performing microaggressions at the workplace

back pre-19, I think some version of 18 pre-overhaul or pre-badge 18 implementation, I’m not sure exactly when it changed, you could meet Fern in the Grand Hall before going to the area before badge 5 and he would mention that he got the key to [area you need to go to] from Cain

and then he would say

this dialog also does not change depending on what gender you are so I’m 99% sure he’s calling both you and Cain gay.

I do have a document of my thoughts on desolation but my prevailing issue with it is its map design’s comical levels of hostility toward my finger joints. It took me like 3 hours of playing deso for my fingers to start hurting when I’ve spent considerably longer running back and forth for summer shiny hunting
