Progress on Black Lobelia!

Yep, I'm back on this nonsense after delaying it for like 2 months. And this outfit is nonsense. What magic did Gojo use to make this?

So far, the corset is done. Lace overlay to give it texture. And a different lace to do all the ruffles! The ruffle foot tried to fight but I made it behave.

The jacket is a linen-cotton blend with purple flowers for the lining. Lobelias are purple! I have some on my porch! This was the closest I could get because they don't really make Lobelia fabric

The jacket is nearly done too. Just need to add the epaulettes and some fasteners to keep the jacket stuck to the corset because anime magic and all

I've been isekai'd into a magical knight

Umi is now finished! It's so shiny and flowy! I've been wanting to make this cosplay since I started cosplaying over 20 years ago. It took me this long to feel my skill was where I needed it to be to make this and be happy with the results!

This entire cosplay is made from my stash with a little bit of Walmart fabric bought for the cape. All the pieces are detachable with giant snaps so it's super easy to pack and wash. I added a crisscross on the back of the shirt to support the cape's weight. All the gems are furniture foam wrapped with spandex. So much hand sewing all these gems!

Can't wait to wear this around AX this weekend!

More progress on Umi!

Made a new skirt as I didn't like the first one. Box pleated now vs a double circle skirt. The skirt is now done with the butt cape attached via 4 large snaps.

The belt is now done too with furniture foam gems covered in metallic spandex.

I added peach straps to the shoulders to attach all the overlay details and so I don't accidentally flash the Con haha

So far, still mostly stash. Had to buy more light blue after remaking the skirt.

Never too late to be isekai'd to be a magical girl. Just need to visit Tokyo Tower again

It's another stash busting project! I've wanted to make a Rayearth cosplay since I started cosplaying but somehow never did. Rayearth was one of my first magical girl series and my favorite CLAMP work. The art is so good!

I heard that the premier of the new anime will be at AX so I am finally making Umi. I always thought I'd cosplay Fuu first but I really love Umi's style (and I don't need to buy anything extra).

So far working on the base details before getting to the detailed shiny bits! I just love an outfit with a good butt cape. I think my fabric inspector agrees. He loves flowy fabric

I'm excited the Utena movie is getting an actual theatrical release, even if I never go to the cinema. Nanami isn't in it but I wonder what kind of cat she would become if she were.

Fully articulated brushbuddy!

I knew I needed one since I started reading the manga. He's got an articulated spine inside with wire feet. The body was wrapped with strips of a thrifted blanket then covered with swirl fur I apparently bought at JoAnn in 2019. The eyes do indeed wiggle!

He's about 25" long and can sit on my shoulder.

I will make a tutorial when I can write again so you too can have a buddy!

I've wanted to make Téa's Spirit outfit forever. I had all the materials and stretch HTV in my stash so it had to be done. I really need more casual, comfy outfits, and with the forecast at Fanime being hot, I needed something cool as well.

I've been unsatisfied with the original skirt I made and finally got fabric and remade the skirt! You can now see the stripes and the skirt no longer looks muddy. Last photo has a comparison of fabrics!

Mock-up for Black Lobelia!

I'm kinda obsessed with My Dress up Darling and I wanted this to be my first outfit. The more I worked on this, the more ridiculous the structure became. I want to know what magic Gojo used to make this work haha

For this, I made my second fashion corset pattern, this time an overbust corset. I've been really lacking this pattern in my collection. No boning in my mock-up but it will have some in the final version.

The jacket is modified from my Téa pattern. This is where the structure gets weird for how it fits around the bust. It's gonna need fasteners to stay on.

The skirt is a full circle skirt. Trying to measure one with a cat obsessed with fabric was a challenge. He really loves fabric!

Most of this will be fabric leftover from other projects. I especially need to get all that gray voile out of my drawer!

All out attack! But traditional tea

Anime Boston had cool sets out in the hallway and I had to get tea photos! This cosplay is falling apart (it was made quickly and poorly at the time), but I had to take it out for one last hurrah. It lasted 10 years!

This photo was taken on the Queen Mary with a night setting. I could feel the boat rocking the whole time while holding the ropes and it was hard to keep still for the photos. Worth all the trouble!

You have the power to summon friends to your side

The FEH Summoner is complete! And with Breidablik made of sparkles too! Ice wanted to make the summoner for so long and finally figured out how I wanted to make it. The Lumiere paint and sparkle felt really shine. It's going to look amazing on stage this weekend at Anime Boston!

Breidablik was a wild adventure of cardboard, foamies, and fabric. It's very sturdy with a plush handle. It has a little weight with the orb I stuck inside. I added black outlines to make everything pop.

Those boots gave me the most trouble. Who designed these? All these stupid outlines for stupid boots, but FEH really likes stupid boots. I'm proud of these. They're also Scotch guarded to make them waterproof.

The shirt is also based off my Jujutsu Kaisen pattern with a modified collar because what are collars in FEH?
