this may be a hot take but i think maybe:
"not all men are misogynists, i'm a man and i'm not a misogynist! i'm a good guy, i've never treated a woman like that and i never will! i hate misogynists!!" aka the "please tell me i'm one of the good guys. i am not getting defensive because i am in denial of my own misogynistic behaviors! how dare you excuse me of being a bad person because of my gender! you're sexist!" (DARVO-like reply)
and
"not all men are benefiting from or perpetuating the patriarchal behavior/systems you're talking about. as a trans man, being lumped in with bigotted men solely because of my gender identity ignores my lived experience of systemic and interpersonal patriarchal abuse. this harms me and leaves me vulnerably alone. our experiences may not be the same, but please recognize my pain is just as real & valid as yours." (oppressed person seeking support and connection in regard to the same underlying abuses)
are two totally different things. maybe.
