"Now see, that's a little harder ta' explain. But how about ya?"
"What’s gotten into you? You look like a bloody idiot with that smile plastered on your face.
"An' you jus' look like a bloody idiot anyway. How are ya?"
Cheaters never die || Loxias & Leah
Loxias knew he would get himself into trouble if he attacked Leah here and now, but he was tempted to do so. Even attacking her now, though, would put her out of commission for the game, and he had a bet riding on Slytherin. “You’re lucky I need you to win your next game,” he huffed, “Or else I’d be attacking you without a second thought, regardless of what Aislinn would have to say about it. Surely she’d understand, since you’re a worthless mudblood and all, that you’d deserved it.”
"Ya know, I jus' got a new theory, that ya jus' projecting on me, because ya cheated."
Surely at this point, any Snake with half a brain would've ran, but Leah had liked to pride herself a little bit more in the sense that she wasn't s much of a coward when keeping herself safe than some of the others did, but then again, which Snake didn't think they were special? So knuckles whitened around her wand, just one hand keeping close to her only form of defence ready to strike when he does, whilst she waited-- waited for his falter, to call him out as he did her. Birds of the same feather perhaps.
"Ready as always. Can’t say I’m fretting over going up against the Puffs. You? You look nervous."
"Ah, no fret. We'll crush them, I'm hardly nervous."
Cheaters never die || Loxias & Leah
"I will curse you and have no regrets." Loxias threatened as he pulled out his wand and pointed it at her, taking a step back to do so. "You’re nothing to me, mudblood. Remember that. I could wipe you off the face of this earth and be done with it. No one would care. You’re worthless anyway."
He didn’t want to hear her say any more about Aislinn. It was bad enough that they were constantly harassed by everyone else, they didn’t need shit from a mudblood, and a cheating mudblood on top of that.
"Go ahead, do ya' best. Because when I'm layin' in tha' infirmary, and you're havin' to explain ya'self, I hope you don't look like tha' purist arsehole ya are, tryna' apprehend a presumed cheata' with violence."
It was twisted, wasn't it? But it wouldn't be so easy if it weren't for who she was, if it weren't for being in Slytherin and brought up hungry. But she was, and that was the misfortune of Loxias Rogers. He hated the stench of difference, he might as well have been a communist, but if he did, he would lose his precious money and hopefully, air of superiority.
"No, but I need someone to come with me to the Halloween thing"
"Ah-- tha' timeless situation. And ya' haven't got anyone in mind yet?"
"Looks like its time ta' burst tha' tension bubble today, eh? You ready?"
MOODBOARD: First game of the year
Go Snakes
Cheaters never die || Loxias & Leah
loxiasrogers: The topic change sent shock to Loxias’s face. He hadn’t expected her to bring his girlfriend into this, of all things. Completely forgetting about the problem at hand, he immediately got defensive. "What do you mean by that? Don’t bring Aislinn into this! I’m good to her, and she’s good to me. She has nothing to do with the fact that you’re a filth blooded cheater. The fact that she can even tolerate being on the same Quidditch team as you is beyond me. If you were on my team, I would make sure you got kicked off for just existing." He was just mad right now. He knew Leah hadn’t cheated, but she had done better than him, and it wasn’t fair. So if he accused her of cheating, then he could feel better about the entire situation, especially if she got punished for it. But now things were getting personal, and he couldn’t stand the fact that she had brought his girlfriend into this mess.
There she goes. Leah finally found the emotional equivalent to a punch to the gut, after the multitudes he's ever pulled onto her. That malicious bastard of a grin flashes upon her lips, teeth bare and dripping with anger, she doesn't feel at all bad for defending herself like this.
"Its like tha' only criteria ya have fa' a girlfriend is magical parents and legs-- actually, scratch tha' legs part, ya haven't got half tha' heart."
"And ya' know what, I'm perfectly happy playin' with tha' Snakes if all Lions are just like _you_."
That undeniable sneer in her voice was her very own way of telling him to sod off.
"The first option, sadly"
"Why, have ya got a boy in mind?"
Cheaters never die || Loxias & Leah
His fists clenched as she approached him, but he knew he would never hit her. Even a mudblooded girl like her, he wouldn’t be able to bring himself to hit unless it came to fire circumstances. It was just a warning, a sign showing he was pissed, a “leave me alone or you’ll regret it later” kind of thing. He managed to stand his ground even with how angry she was at the moment, and just simple replied, “I don’t believe you.”
It took another few seconds of glaring and teeth grinding before he continued with, “You’re a cheater, and you know you’re a cheater. There’s no way a mudblood could score as good as me. You might as well admit it, you fucking piece of garbage.”
"Just cause me mum an' dad ain't magical I can't possibly do well in school?"
They were less than a feet apart at this point, the closest she's ever been next to him in the six years they've been here. And yet, the urge to shove him down the movie stairs hadn't been greater. The last thing Leah needed was a taint in her academic record, something she needed pristine to get her to places. It wasn't fair, he had everything he wanted, he had every opportunity in this world because of his magical parents. She and her family caught a lucky break. Why wouldn't he just let go?
"How a boy like ya' is datin' a girl like Aislinn is b e y o n d me."
"Oh… Do you vant to?" he looked at her dead serious. "How eez schkateeng preetty? Eet eez cold and very hard to do!"
"--Not at all, Dimitri. An' how could ya not like watchin' people ice skate? Its like dancin', but on ice."
"a cliche sixth year struggle; I can’t get a date"
"--A date? Like a boyfriend, or like a partner to a ball, or a bookin' with a professor?"
"Wait, really? Huh, I neva' would'a thought'a that."
"You’re right about that. I dunno, since coming to school here I think wikipedia is pretty lacking in a lot of areas…"
"Magical wikipedia?"
Dimitri gingerly looked back at his butt. “Eet eez..? Vy you lookeeng at eet?”
"I ain't talkin' 'bout ya butt, I was talkin' bout ice skatin'!"
