“Yeah of course,” she said and smiled up at him as she started getting her pipe ready. “It’s only fair to share my stash with someone who I enjoy sharing a conversation with.” Leah brought the pipe to her lips and lit it, breathing in deeply and holding the smoke in her lungs as she passed the pipe and lighter to Clint.

Ash nodded, head tilting slightly. “Family shit is rough. Trust me, I dunno what your situation is, but I have some family shit, too.” She rested back in the chair a bit, taking another hit and offering it to the girl again. “Well,” she said, feeling herself deflate as a cloud of smoke poured from her mouth and she gave a slight cough. “If you ever need a smoking buddy, my friend Ciara and I are usually around and willing.”

Leah nodded and sighed. “I just worry about my mum a lot,” she said softly, then shook her head to sort of clear it. She eagerly took the joint back to take another hit and let the smoke just sit in her lungs for a moment before slowly exhaling. “Oh, yeah, I know Ciara. Haven’t talked to them in a while though,” she said with a shrug. “Like I said, I don’t socialise much.”

“Who else would be here all times of the night?” Clint shrugged, the only other person who had ever stayed here this late was Holly and that was with him. Clint stood there awkwardly looking at Leah, “You’re are standing in front of my locker, it has my cloths in it.” Clint said motioning to the wall behind her. Clint raised an eyebrow as he watched Leah eye him up and down. “I could always stay out of my cloths if you’d prefer?” Clint offered jokingly. “Want to smoke a little?”

Leah looked behind her then stepped out of the way. “I wouldn’t be against it,” she said with a shrug. He certainly wasn’t hard to look at, and eye candy was always nice when she was smoking. She sat down on a bench twisted to one side and set her pipe and bag of weed on the bench in front of her. “I mean, that is what I came her for.” She chuckled and fished her lighter out of her pocket to set beside the other supplies. “Wanna join me?”

Clint tilted his head, he was confused who would be in the locker room right now it was late at night and he watched the last of his team go hours ago. They sound familiar? Clint thought as he looked down to his wand and picked it up quickly. he rounded the corner slowly showing his wand at the ready. When he saw Leah frozen and holding her hands up, Clint put his wand in his towel that was wrapped around his body, and smiled at the sight of her. “Leah. Hi, what are you doing here?” Clint asked as he walked towards her he noticed the assortment of weed, and pipe. “Ah, I see you came here to smoke. You caught me at a-” Clint started before gesturing to his nakedness, “-Revealing time.”

Leah lowered her hands when she saw who it was and released a sigh relief. “Oh, it’s just you,” she said softly and smiled at him. “Yeah, I just wanted a place to smoke.” When he mentioned the revealing time, her eyes raked across his body and and smirked a bit. “I can see that.”

Well, that’s a relief. Ash thought to herself, glancing over at the other girl. How had she never met this cutie before when they shared such a common interest. Ash tried to make it a point to know any and all potential smoking buddies. Especially such cute ones. Motioning to the seat beside her, Ash took another hit from the joint before offering it to the girl. “Please, first hits on me, kitten.” She said with a smirk, blowing smoke from her nose. “I’m Ash. You been partaking long? It seems like we should have met by now with such common interests.”

Leah smiled and went to sit next to the girl. “I’m, uh, Leah,” she said and took a hit from the joint. “Yeah, I’ve been smoking basically since I got to Hogwarts. Family shit and shit.” She shrugged and handed the joint back to the girl. “I don’t really socialise a whole lot so,” she said and shrugged again.

“Uh…” Albus laughed hesitantly and started to rub his neck. “No, nothing like that.” He looked around at the demolished dummies behind him. “I’m just sharpening up, I guess. Can’t ever be too prepared,” he remarked, offhandedly. “Were you… Looking for something?” He wasn’t too sure about this girl, her comment about his father had him a little bit off-put. It wasn’t a great feeling.

Leah shook her head and shrugged. She couldn’t tell the child of a Potter that she was just going to the Room of Requirement to get high, right? Or could she? “I, uh, just wanted a place to smoke.” That was decently ambiguous. Sure, cigarettes were illegal at her age, too, but weed was illegal for everyone. She looked around a bit more and noticed that a hammock had appeared after she stated her intentions with the room.

Clint to try and get back into his usual self stayed late after practice choosing not to go back to the castle when his team mates bugged him to. He shrugged it off barely said a word to them and watched as they slowly filed out of the locker room around eight at night. He walked back out onto the field, his broom clutched tightly into his hand. He straddled the broom and lifted up into the sky around him the sky was cloudy, but that didn’t diminish his spirit.

A hour or so into his fly. The cold night air was close to feeling an old friends presence. The evening was his play ground and in his haste to stay isolated from his friends he cut himself off from the sky too. He did a few laps around the pitch, keeping low to not draw attention to himself. When he flew behind the goal posts he flew through one and then started back down towards the center of the pitch.

As he closed his eyes to smile for the first time in a week or so he suddenly gripped his broom tightly as Lily’s face popped into his face. His heart raced and pounded into his throat. He opened his eyes, he felt scared and went as fast as he could to land. What is wrong with me? I’m harboring to much pain. Clint thought to himself, as he threw his broom down and stormed into the locker room, and went straight for the shower. As he felt the water pour down his face and body all he could think about was his friends and how he wasn’t helping Lily or the Order, should I run, should I talk to the other members and organize something?

As he stepped out of the shower he saw a shadow walk into the locker room, he froze. He didn’t have his wand or broom, he couldn’t defend himself. All he had was a towel. If this is my time, maybe I should greet it. He thought, he wanted to show his wasn’t scared of his fate, even thought he was terrified. “Show yourself, who is their?” Clint called out to the person he couldn’t see quite yet.

Leah hadn’t expected anyone to be in the locker rooms this late, so when she heard someone speak she froze. What the fuck do I do? she thought to herself, then slowly turned around with her hands raised up in surrender, not paying any attention to the fact that she was now clearly showing whoever was there that she had a pipe and a bag of weed. Merlin, I hope this isn’t my end. “I swear, I’m not here for you. I didn’t know there would be anyone here,” she called out. Her voice sounded weak and she hated that, but it was already out in the open.

Ash had missed breakfast, her first two classes, and lunch after sleeping in late, her nightly activities having worn her out. By the time she’d woken up, there was no actual point in trying to salvage the day, so she wandered, instead, to the kitchen for a few quick snacks before finding an empty classroom on the first floor to hole up in. She was a little disappointed to be alone, but at the same time, she could easily enjoy the joint she’d rolled the night before, leaning back in the chair, head lolled to the side, every wrry she’d ever had seemingly melting away as the high took over. Ash was honestly starting to wonder why she was ever sober. Hearing someone at the door, however, reminded her as her heart pounded and she started coughing loudly as she tried to put out the joint and pack everything up, ready to make a quick exit.

Leah was looking for a place to smoke - which seemed to be a 24/7 occurrence for her - and she thought she had found an empty classroom, but as she opened the door she heard someone coughing from within. Wouldn’t hurt to check out what was going on, she thought to herself as she cautiously went farther into the room. She realised as soon as she entered why the girl in there had been coughing, and she smirked slightly. She looked across the room to see her putting out her joint and Leah’s eyes widened. “No, you don’t need to do that,” she said immediately, her voice a bit rushed. “I was just trying to find a place to smoke myself. Mind if I join you?”

Adam took out his wand and wrote out “Want to talk? For a deaf guy, I’m a great listener.” He hoped his little joke would help, but she also could talk to him and he would be there. Sometimes you just want someone to listen.

Leah pulled out her own wand and wrote Sure, if you don’t mind my ranting. She was tentative to rope this guy into her own issues; she could hardly handle them herself, so she couldn’t imagine that anyone else would be able to.

Leah was honestly running out of places to smoke, especially when she wanted to do so in the middle of the night. The Room of Requirement was too busy - there was almost always someone in there lately - and anywhere else in the castle was too risky with the increased curfew restrictions. Her only idea was to leave the castle, which was risky increased curfews or not, but she thought it was her only option.

One night, she had been up pretty late - her most recent letter from her mum still had her on edge - and she really needed a smoke, so she snuck out of the common room and kept to the shadows as she left the castle to go into the crisp, night air of early spring. She breathed in the openness before she continued on in the shadows of the castle on her way to the Quidditch pitch. She figured there wouldn’t be anyone there, so she could hide out in the locker rooms with her pipe and smoke to her heart’s content.

When she got into the locker rooms, she genuinely thought she was alone and didn’t notice the other figure there with her. She sat down in a corner against a locker and pulled her pipe and lighter out, along with a small plastic bag that contained a small portion of her weed supply.

Thank god Confusing Constance knows the alphabet, Adam thought to himself as the portrait opened to the Ravenclaw common room. The past few weeks for him had been… uneventful. Nothing. He couldn’t remember anything of note happening besides he got a cumulative thirty words written. He decided that maybe a change of scenery would help him get out of his funk. He decided to try leaving the dungeons for the exact opposite place in the castle, the Ravenclaw Tower.

At this time of the day, however, he didn’t expect to see anyone throwing a perfectly good piece of paper into the fireplace. He could see the girl was visibly upset. Normally, he wouldn’t care, but… Leah, was it? She always seemed decent enough.

He walked over to her and lightly tapped her on the shoulder. He then signed very slowly, mouthing the words obviously so she would understand. “You O-K?”

Leah was about to nod but it just didn’t seem right. She couldn’t lie about her mood right now, so she instead shook her head. She felt tears begin to well up in her eyes and she wanted to look away but then she wouldn’t be able to tell when the boy was talking to her. She didn’t know how else to respond since it wasn’t likely he’d be able to hear her, considering his use of sign language, and she didn’t know sign language herself.

Albus turned to see a new face in front of him, turning to leave. “No, it’s uh…” he hesitated. “It’s fine. You’re not interrupting anything.” He quickly diminished the flame on the dummy with a quick wave of his wand. “You can stay if you want.”

Leah turned back around with a look of confusion on her face. “Clearly I was. What did that poor dummy do to you?” she asked and her confused luck transformed into a smirk. She chuckled a bit and shook her head. “You planning on following in your father’s footsteps and starting something like Dumbledore’s Army?” Leah didn’t know why she was asking that; she had absolutely no interest in anything having to do with the war and just wanted to fly under the radar. The whole thing seemed absolutely ridiculous.

The past couple months had gone by in a blur. Everything sort of melded together in Albus’ mind at this point, and most of the time he didn’t really know what he wanted to do with himself. With the things that had been happening in his life, he knew he needed a way to keep himself in line. He wanted to go back to being the happy Albus that everyone knew and loved.

So Albus started training himself. For what, he wasn’t sure, but the energy and concentration that practicing took usually let him blow off any steam that built up in his body and mind. To train, he would take himself to the Room of Requirement a couple nights a week to practice some spells on a dummy. It cleared his mind, used any pent up aggression he had built, and satisfied him.

Today had been a particularly rough day. The stress of school on top of everything else was weighing on him particularly hard. The Room produced more dummies than usual. After practically ripping one particular dummy to shreds, Albus still wasn’t content. Breathing heavily, he lifted his wand one last time, staring the dummy down. “Incendio,” he muttered, a bead of sweat rolling down his face, right before the dummy burst into flames. He sighed heavily and simply watched the dummy burn, when behind him he heard the door unlocking itself.

It was hard for Leah to find a good place to smoke that wouldn’t cause her to get in trouble with any professors. Outside there were too many people, in the library there were too many... flammable objects, and in the Ravenclaw common room there were too many do-gooders. The only really good place she could find as of late was the Room of Requirement. She was rarely able to open the door when there was someone else in the room, but this day it did so she was quite surprised to see a flaming spell-practice dummy and one of the Potter children in the middle of the room. “Well fuck, I guess I’ll leave then,” she said after a moment of comprehending what was happening, and then turned to leave.

Leah was shaking. She had gotten an owl from her mum to catch her up on what’s been happening, and though she hadn’t said anything too concerning, it’s what she didn’t say that worried Leah. She knew her father was a drunk and far too often that meant harm for her mother. She made a silent vow to her mum to get retribution for everything he’d done to her while Leah was at school, but Leah still felt bad she couldn’t be with her mother right then.

Leah had been reading the letter in the common room and she was on the verge of tears of anger, but she held them back. She stood and walked to the fire to throw the letter in, then walked back to the sofa in a daze. She sat and stared at the fire, not noticing anything that was going on around her until she heard her name.
