Hmmm should I reset my spanish tree?
I feel like I haven’t done a lesson in ages, just doing stories etc for XP
Thinking resetting it and completing it in a more systematic way might help rekindle something.
I decided to just use my 2nd account which i had forgot about. So now on my main account I am doing stories mainly to maintain my streak and doing lessons systematically from the beginning on my 2nd account.

A time extension on a quiz that you can just retake? Is that 40 XP really worth 1.49?
Just wanted to share a little conversation I had that I believe contained some good hints and tips.
So in duolingo (other language learning apps are avaliable) when typing out answers do you say everything out loud? Even though it isn’t a speaking lesson? Everyone needs more practice speaking, why not turn every lesson into a speaking lesson?
Why not take this one step further and use the dictation option on your device? Click the little microphone (you might need to hold the button down to select your target language after adding it in settings) and speak instead of typing. Likely you pronciation will be off so you might have to fix up some errors.

Anyone able to explain these rosetta stone plans to me?
So I appear to get credit in the plan for lessons I have completed in the normal lesson section. Do I then also get credit in the normal lesson section for lessons completed in the plan?
Is the app and website different? I have completed the beginner plans on my app version, but on the website it has a “phrasebook”, “stories” and “audio companion” section that isn’t in the app.
Just wondering should I be doing this on the app or PC or both. Or whether I should ignore the plans if it means doubling up on the work if I don't get credit in the normal lessons.
Does this item make sense with the implementation of leagues?
Shouldn’t people be on a more even playing field rather than some people having double XP?

Can you provide a little bit more information on “Busuu”? This is the first I’ve heard of it.
It’s similar to most other apps like duolingo, with listen, speaking, writing lessons, but it has a few extras.
Like it seems to have more detailed notes and explanations rather than relying on trial and error.
It also has the option at the end of most sections to write or speak something and native speakers can grade and correct you.
You can also grade or correct others.

I was reading it as “I told them that no and I left” but with out the that part. Like you told them that you and your friend left, that’s why I was wondering how no was a name.

Yesterday I started learning Italian with my boyfriend, who said he needed something constructive to do with his time.
We were just doing it with memrise, because it was an idea I proposed for him, and I had zero books or resources as we were lying in bed, but we needed to test it. It didn’t take long for him to say he missed the grammar parts, and wanted it to be more thorough, so he could actually speak and understand the language.
Today, however, I found a good book to use, and a very nice grammar book, but I also just know it has to be a “we’re relaxing in bed, but doing something constructive”-thing for it to stick, and I’m missing the audio parts from the flashcards if we start using books instead.
That’s the biggest flaw of duolingo, memrise and similar flashcard-apps, and I really miss something really comprehensive to learn a language when you’re just starting out. They’re all good add-ons, if you find a comprehensive grammar book and a normal ‘’learn x language’’ book, but I cannot believe that no one made something like that yet?
Memrise is lovely for Chinese, but that’s because I went to an actual school and learnt it for 2 and a half years, plus four months in China as an au pair with Chinese classes, before starting on my own, so I have most of the basics down. I have also used it for German, Swedish and Norwegian, but as a Dane I have a bigger comprehension of all those languages, because we also read Swedish and Norwegian texts in school, and German is mandatory as well.
But maybe it’s because the “Italian 1” course and so on on memrise are bad? I know the “Chinese 1” could be better because that was the one I used when I wanted to refresh my Chinese after my one-year break.
Anyway… Do people know an app or something, that acutally might do what I ask for it? Maybe I just haven’t found it yet.
Memrise is for vocabulary like flash cards.
And duolingo does have grammar and explanations for some languages, click the light bulbs.
Busuu seems to be the more complete one I have used. It got explanations, translations, reading, listening, speaking, interactions with real native speakers.
I had a 100% chance of guessing this even if I didn’t know any Spanish.
