Okay so uhhh it might not make sense cause in the trailer it isn't said how he survived or anything like that...
But! There was something there that I don't think anyone paid attention to (definitely not me ha ha ha 😅).
I'm talking about Sawyer's thoughts that we could see in the background.
"FLESH AND BONE A BROKEN WORLD I WILL FIX WHEN NO ONE COULD"
Why it's so important? Because I think that we were wrong about what Sawyer actually wants to achieve.
Yes he strives for immortality but not only. And not only for himself but for everyone.
He wants to fix people. Make them better.
And it only clicked in my head how important it is because...
There's something I didn't tell anyone. Yet. Because I didn't want to bring bad luck by speaking about it (yeah I know it sounds dumb) but anyway...
Only a few questions were answered. I wasn't the lucky chosen but one of my questions got a like from Spencer who works with Mob Entertainment.
And yeah I know that Spencer might not know anything or only know nothing of importance. But at the same time I found it interesting at the time and decided to keep it to myself.
But now you can see that my question is answered in the trailer.
Maybe Sawyer didn't think "I'll become a god and..." but interestingly enough he thought about fixing world when at the same time he thought "I AM" and we could also see his thoughts "EVERYWHERE" which may mean nothing but at the same time the phrase "I am everywhere" could be interpreted in this case as an omnipresence.
And all of this reminded me of what we found out from Sawyer's QnA. That he likes science-fiction and like I said in one of my previous posts that Sawyer could read Dune because the timeline checks.
And he most likely took Golden Path from there.
And all of this could imply that Sawyer wants to achieve what he read in Dune.
And why it's important to whether or not he's alive?
Because we still didn't get any confirmation in the game on what exactly Sawyer wanted to achieve. It wasn't even stated anywhere that he wanted to achieve immortality. We just assumed that from context clues.
And we got more info about the Doctor from QnA and not from the game. And yet it's still not a clear confirmation. It's still just us guessing things.
And like I said many times that we still don't know when Elliot founded Young Geniuses Program which was important part of Sawyer's past. And considering that we saw his memory of rat experiment in the trailer and we didn't get clear confirmation in the game I'm assuming that it's something that we should pay more attention to.
And if there's still a lot of mistery sorrounding Doctor and his motivations I think it's safe to assume that he is not dead and we'll see more of him.
And while we could get some confirmations about the Doctor with him out of the picture. I personally doubt it.
Because while the Doctor first appeared in Project Playtime so not from the beginning of the game it's quite evident that there's some build up to what his goal actually is.
And while the hidden text in teaser trailer for chapter 5 definitely refers to Elliot or the Prototype I personally think it's about Sawyer and the part "You think you know what he wants? You don't know anything. Not yet." fits him as much as it fits the Prototype.
Yeah I'm probably delusional here but if you know anything about Dune it actually fits Poppy Playtime story.
With the poppy substance (gel and/or gas) being something like the Dune's spice.
The Prototype could be easily seen here as previous emperor or Baron Harkonnen who wants to have a monopoly on everything in the factory - he is viewed as god (by CatNap) after all.
And the Doctor could be seen here as the new emperor - either Paul Atreides or Leto II Atreides (he's referred to as god emperor).
There's also a fact that we don't know how old Sawyer is (or was when he was turned into experiment).
We don't know how old he was when he was invited to YGP.
But I was thinking about it and I came to conclusion that Sawyer could still be a little kid in '60s so it would mean that he could have been pushed by his parents to strive for what was written in Dune.
Like yeah I know that it's my headcanon that Sawyer's parents indoctrinated him via something like mind control but it fits.
Yeah it could be anything that his parents did to him that could result in him being obsessive over what he read in Dune.
But the timeline checks. Sawyer's golden path and his thoughts and some of his dialogue being inspired by Dune check.
And while it could be simply that devs took inspiration from Dune (which they probably did) but they also apply some things from real life to their story because while Poppy Playtime is fictional story it is set up in real world.
Idk maybe what I'm saying doesn't have any sense at all and maybe it only have sense in my delusional mind but to me all these things fit together too perfectly for it to be just a coincidence.
It's just too many things that make sense.
So yeah I probably overhyped myself but I felt epiphany when I saw that line of Sawyer's thoughts.
Sorry for any mistakes in the post cause I'm tired cause I slept only two hours (three if you squint) xhdjnsnsjs (;ŏ﹏ŏ)
And also sorry if my ramblings don't make any sense and I disappointed you (and anyone who is reading this) QwQ
