I'm always seeing this sentiment of "I have got to make my art weirder" or people begging for weirder art but here's the thing, Weird is not a brand. You cannot rack your brains trying to figure out the "Weird" formula. You don't get weird art by artificially forcing whatever you think is "weird." You get weird art (and I think "weird" is sometimes people groping for a way of saying non-corporatized) by figuring out what you like, deep down, even (especially) if you think it's embarrassing and wallowing in it like a pig

RSL Progress Update!

Season 1:

We have two episodes ready to go, but we're trying to create a buffer of at least four before we start releasing. Ani E and James are making some incredible stuff that I can't wait to bring to your ears. The hard deadline we've made for ourselves for the first episode is September 18, but if we're ready sooner you'll hear it sooner!

Voice work is done for two-thirds of Season 1, and we'll soon be scheduling the last set of recording sessions. Chloe and Eva are doing a wonderful job bringing the best performances out of our amazing VAs.

Season 2:

Writers are brainstorming. Storming up some brains. Cooking up some good food for your ears.

Personal Note:

Ani Rey and I have a big move coming up. This may explain why this blog hasn't been terribly active lately, and I apologize in advance that it may be even less active for a little while. But I'm so thankful that we have such a competent and hard-working production team to keep the momentum going!

It may be "just" a fun passion project, but that doesn't mean RSL isn't work, and I often think fondly on the many hours that have gone into making it a work of art surpassing my wildest aspirations at its conception.
