Welcome to the blog
Hello, and welcome to a blog all about the Canadian Horse, or le cheval canadien!
My name is Keeli. I only got introduced to the breed in late 2020, when I started working as a working student for Reindance Canadians in Lacomb, Oregon. Ever since then, I've fallen deeply in love with this endangered breed, and I know I need to represent the breed as much as I can and tell as many people about the breed as I possibly can.
My trainer, Kristina Eckert, has been involved in the breed for over 7 years and has trained, bred, shown, etc. Canadian Horses since she got involved. She's been riding since she was a baby, however, and grew up with her mom, a cart driver.
While this page is dedicated to all Canadian Horses in the world, I will more than likely post lots about my trainer and her past/present horses that she's worked with, or even the one's I've worked with so far.
The Canadian Horse is a fascinating breed that is extremely versatile. From dressage to barrel racing, and show jumping to cart driving, this breed can and will do it all. Follow me and my journey to educate the equine world of tumblr about the Canadian Horse.
I will do a weekly history/random fact of the breed every week, but the most important fact that stands: The Canadian Horse is among the top 10 most endangered horse breeds in the world. There are an estimated 2500 if that left in the world.
