Holy cannoli! she’s back!
I need another mode of accountability to get my ass into wedding shape. Blogging has been a nice therapeutic adventure for me in the past. It’s also an opportunity for me to make sure that I’m accountable to the few readers I do have.
Here’s where I’ve been this far in my journey back to pre-DrPH jermy.
- I’ve tried out (and actually paid for) a healthy living support group called Noom. They got me with their hip advertising. The first few weeks were awesome because they spoke my language (e.g., hipstereese). But then the lessons became a little too didactic, and it wasn’t as fun. So I saved my money and guilt for other things. Since then, my cheap ass has returned to MyFitnessPal to be my calorie counting accountability mechanism of choice.
- I broke up with the YMCA after a tumultuous 5ish years together. The last few years were analogous to an uninvolved dad’s relationship with the Y. I would constantly give it money and only visit during the holidays and when I felt bad. Since then, I’ve started a new relationship with it’s less popular sister the YWCA because it’s convenient and less busy than the YMCA. I’m committed to try to blog each time I go to the gym to (again) stay accountable.
- the biggest loser: Bolosan edition. As a family, we engaged in a friendly competition to lose weight for us all to look good at our impending nuptials (and heath reasons— blah blah blah). We all weighed in October and will weigh in again in November. Extra motivation is the wager of $500 for the biggest loser.
So, that’s all of my current steps toward returning to a healthier version of myself. I challenge you to do the same.
Cheers!
