Welcome to LEDDLabs!

LEDD Laboratories is a research facility for studying unusual individuals from across universes using various puzzles and challenges. Subjects complete tests under close observation, scientists work behind the scenes, and something else lurks between the cracks... But it's mostly about the testing!

This blog is run by me‚ LEDD! I'm the Head of Testing Moderation‚ which means I get to do all the talking! On here‚ you can follow along with my test subjects' progress‚ and participate by sending in asks!

I made a LEDDlabs game for my game design class!

You guys only get a video, sorry. I made this in the free version of Gamemaker so I can do .exe files. But maybe I'll look into buying the full version now that I'm getting a feel for it :]

I'll throw some of the little gifs n things I made for it under the cut 💙

First off, here's the full description I wrote for each character in my original pitch, which I ended up cutting out in the final info page. Leaving space to explain the controls was a little more important.

I used the gifs I made last semester for their basic walking and jumping sprites, but we also have idle standing sprites now!

And Ollie has her punch. And Rat's crawl actually had two frames, though I couldn't get them to animate correctly in-game.

Moe's and Ollie's sprites are all the same for left or right, they're just mirrored. But Rat's "spots" are different depending on which way he's facing.

These banners were gonna pop up when you switch characters, but I didn't end up using them. They're cute tho!

And LEDD got a sprite! Look at his eyes go, yippee!

The shape of The Dark's monsters were made by just slapping Moe, Rat, and Ollie's walking sprites together. I think it adds a fun eeriness to them, cause you can kiiinda recognize each of their shapes in there. Which is then maybe ruined by watching them go flying when they hit the walls weird. That was a glitch that I refused to fix. It's funny <3

Oh also. I didn't show the credits menu in the video because it has my Real Legal Name, but the sound effects and music are all from kirby games! (Super Star and Dream Course specifically)

I'm happy to answer more questions about the game if yall want, since you can't play yourselves ^^ Maybe I can revisit this concept sometime

BLUE: "Ugh. You drank that stuff didn't you."

CYAN: "Yep!"

BLUE: "Would you like to explain how you got your hands on it when none of us are legally able to purchase alcohol and your tablet has several filters on it to keep you from buying dangerous things."

CYAN: "Yeah, I got someone else's credid card and age and stuff from online. And I just borrowed Red's tablet. Didja know they'll do literally anything if you ask niceys enough?"

BLUE: "Yes. I know that. Whose identity did you steal?"

CYAN: "Iunno. Some 'Ledd' guy."

BLUE: "And how much of their money did you spend?"

CYAN: "Like… ninety?"

BLUE: "Oh for fuck's sake… how much alcohol did you BUY?"

CYAN: "A lot!"

BLUE: "Okay. Well you've committed a crime, and broken several rules, so this is going to necessitate some sort of punishment."

CYAN: "Aw man…"

BLUE: "Now, there's a few options here. Option one is you come clean to the whole crew and we can come up with a suitable punishment as a group."

CYAN: "Nopeitty nope nope. I'm not gettin' ejected for just a silly credit card fraud. My motive core is cleaaaan. Clean as a pickle."

BLUE: "Okay, then there's two other ways. Option two is you record an apology video and send it to the person whose credit card information you stole, and you also pay back all their money from your wages."

CYAN: "Oh come on, that's like. A lot of wages. Can I do the third thing instead?"

BLUE: "You want option three? Before I've even told you what it is?"

CYAN: "Yeah! Paying money SUCKS."

BLUE: "Ehehe. Alright then."

CYAN: "Wait wh-"

BLUE: "Option three is I get to study the effects of alcohol intoxication! Follow me to Medical, please."

Hello! I'm looking forward to hearing more about you all through this neat blog :) I'd like to Ask: What kind of security systems does your ship have? Do you have any cameras?

FORTE: "Oh, we've got cameras alright."

FORTE: "There's four hard-wired cams in total, all in the hallways. One in the front cross-ways, and one in the back cross-ways, then one right outside of Admin, and then one outside of Medical. That last one's only useful sometimes, since some people like to keep the medbay shut all the time for some reason. Sometimes I stick an extra camera in there, but it never lasts long. Blue's a bit too fond of taking things apart."

FORTE: "There's a few other security systems, too, like the remotely operated doors, and... really most of the ship is a security measure, if ya think about it. Even the airlocks and our frequent use of 'em."

FORTE: "All the security stuff is accessed from the security room... for everyone else. I have constant access to it all."

FORTE: "Oh hey. Someone killed the aberration and shoved their body in the O2 room."

FORTE: "...Imma let 'em rot. It's what they would've wanted."
