canon sage's hair is so bright brown because of her dragon genetics (her mother was a brown and green Forest dragon, shes tree colored). modern/human au sage, if i ever actually drew her, would have very dark brown hair, because theres no magic bullshit going on.

I lovvve in stories when a character says some "lore" and everyone (viewers) just take that as textual fact. But it isnt. Cause sometimes characters are Liars or Stupid or otherwise Unreliable. I do this a lot when writing personally.
I think a lot about the section Sage got on the labyrinth oct tvtropes page that was like "Sage's inability to read is because she is a dragon" cause its absolutely nooot LOL. That was Sage misremembering something Seth told her that Seth believes to be a fact of the world but is in fact false 😊 sorry to cause canon confusion, its very important characterization for both characters. Sage is the end of a long telephone game of magic facts and should NOT be trusted with exposition.
Anyways this is the main reason i cant wait to write more Rat. That guy LOVES lying on purpose. He's gonna spead sooo much misinformation <3
Humans in Seth's world believe creatures (non-human sentient beings) to be less intelligent/cultured as a justification of the colonization and the enslavement (there is government propaganda to encourage this belief). Seth told Sage that she can't read because she's half dragon and "dragons can't read" (dragons have never developed a system of reading/writing because they are incredibly long-lived and instead have intricate oral/psychic systems for information sharing and storytelling). Meanwhile actually Sage can't read because she has learning disabilities and no one is accommodating for her neurodivergency (because its like the 1600s or something). There's nothing inherently stopping dragons from learning to read, this one is just dyslexic.
I don't talk about it much cause I don't think it's a particularly clever fantasy racism metaphor but Sage is intentionally indigenous Latin American coded. And Seth gets all his education from a government-funded university. Don't believe Seth about anything ever, especially when it comes to creatures.

is there a term for this phenomenon yet and if not can we call it an outroject. if an introject is when a headmate is based off of a character, then an outroject is when a character is based off a headmate. or maybe this would be more of a reintroject. cause she was in and then out and now back in... in-n-outroject
