CRA Re-opens Online Services

CRA announced on April 14th, 2014 that their online services were back online.  In addition, CRA will extend the filing deadline by 5 days to May 5, 2014.

CRA Closes Online Services

Its the busiest time of the year for CRA, and they have been forced to close their online services like EFILE, NETFILE, My Account, My Business Account and Represent a Client. 

CRA will post status updates on their website's home page http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html page daily after 3pm.

The Government of Canada to phase out cheques by April 2016

The government of Canada is phasing out cheques by April 2016, and they are encouraging businesses to sign up for direct deposit.

EHT Exemption increased to $450,000

As of January 1, 2014 the amount of annual Ontario payroll that may be exempt from Employer Health Tax (EHT) has increased from $400,000 to $450,000.
