YOU KNOW WHAT ... she's ambitious (she strives to get ahead and be the best, she has a clear idea of what she wants to do when she gets older, and when she puts her mind to something she won't let anything stop her), she's very clever, she can be vv proud (always thinking she's correct), and she doesn't shy away from lying / manipulating teachers and whatnot to get what she wants ... so Yeah i could def see mione as slytherin

hermione did go back to hogwarts to finish her education, but most of her nights were spent crying in her room

#like.#firstly because she didn't have harry and ron there #and also it's just #that crushing thought that so many of her classmates couldn't even have the choice to return #because they were killed #their lives robbed #and she walks the hallways and it isn't the same it's not #because this place was a battleground #and everywhere she goes she's reliving moments #it's . vv hard

and as they stand there amidst the shower of white, glimmering snowflakes brushing past red noses & cheeks, she can feel it. as they look upon the grave of lily & james potter, fingers intertwined, she can feel it. love. love that perseveres even in the darkest of times. the sort of love that has kept her at his side, that’s kept her fighting. the sort of love that saves / creates / endures / destroys. she rests her head on his arm, and for a mere moment everything else falls away. the pain, the anguish, the fear of what’s been done & what’s to come. for a moment it’s just them.

i cannot believe i just saw in the hermione tags someone say that hermione obliviating her parents showed that she didn’t respect them/she thought she was better than them/she was treating them like they were pets .... can you believe this holy shit give me a sec. first off lemme say there’s a major difference between the dursleys being given the choice to move away (since that was brought up in the comments) and hermione choosing to oblivate her parents. the dursleys literally did not gaf about harry. they gave him a roof over his head because they had to, but other than that there was legitimately no love shared between them. it’s not as if they were going to spend their every waking moment worried about whether he lived or died. if anything, hermione erasing herself from her parent’s memory showed how much she loved them. she couldn’t bare to think of them constantly worried about her, constantly in the dark about her whereabouts, perhaps unable to even eat or sleep because they’re out of their minds wondering if she’s even still alive. she could barely even speak about what she did to them to harry and ron without sobbing?? she wanted them as far removed as possible from everything that was going on so that they would be SAFE.

harry rlly has a shit time in ootp ... sometimes i’m reading and im like ok chill out w attacking ron and hermione but at the same time he’s CONSTANTLY talked about behind his back? people he thought were friends are now treating him like he’s some sort of disease? invalidating his trauma? yeah i’d be on edge too jesus

#and don't forgot he had to go through that shit when he was TWELVE #when everyone thought HE was attacking ppl in chamber of secrets #then again in gof ???#ppl in hogwarts are genuinely the worst im so sorry #harry goes to the dursleys and has to deal w their ab*se #then he has to come to school and deal w this shit #no im actually so pissed #time and time again harry is outcasted from the place he loves most #besides of course the weasleys / hermione / da #but compared to the amount of ppl in school it's rlly not a lot #it's just shit

having someone like luna as a friend would be incredibly helpful for hermione. rereading ootp and there’s quite a few times where hermione is borderline rude to luna because she doesn’t like the fact that luna is able to believe in things that don’t exactly have concrete proof. the same thing is seen in dh where the trio goes to meet xenophilius and he’s talking about the deathly hallows and hermione keeps interjecting about how it’s only a story and how it “couldn’t possibly be real”, even when harry literally has the invisibility cloak. she often defers to having debates rather than conversations, wanting firm answers to her questions, not what ifs. it frustrates her to think of things that could have a very complex answer or even no answer at because she likes when everything fits into a box, when everything has an answer. when everything can be summed up. someone like luna however is always willing to discuss multiple possibilities, even one’s that are far fetched. she’s willing to have conversations that explore the unknown and isn’t put off by open ended answers.

#and by very complex answers I mean like .#things that could have multiple answers #questions that have various theories #she doesn't want to have a discussion she just wants to KNOW #that's what im trying to get at w hermione she just #she wants to know right away #she wants to be able to read a book and get that understanding #luna is comfortable w the unknown #she's happy when things aren't just clean and cut #hermione isn't #i just think hermione could learn something from luna #everyone can tbh #[ 𓅓 ] META.
