2014 Mazda 3 | Edmonton Mazda Dealer | LA Mazda
LA Mazda in Edmonton, Alberta is very excited to share the all new redesigned [Mazda3](http://www.lamazda.ca/search/search_filter/type/new/model/Mazda3/). The top selling North American sedan is due for a redesign for the 2014 model year, and we now have an idea of what to expect for the next generation of [Mazda’s](http://www.lamazda.ca/) #1 selling model: a lighter, more efficient ride. According to a [Car and Driver](http://www.caranddriver.com/news/2014-mazda-3-rendering-and-information-news) report, the new Mazda 3 will deliver the same lightweight platform as the industry leading [CX-5](http://www.lamazda.ca/search/search_filter/type/new/model/Cx-5/). This car has been taking it's slimfast shakes and you will notice the difference the minute you get behind the wheel Mazda’s [SkyActiv technology](http://www.lamazda.ca/page/custom/en/Mazda_Skyactiv-G/) philosophy, which stresses reducing weight and increasing rigidity to improve fuel economy, handling and performance. - 20% better fuel efficiency thanks to the low compression ratio of 14.0:1. - A new two-stage turbocharger realizes smooth and linear response from low to highend speeds, and greatly increases low and high-end torque (up to 5,200 rpm rev limit) Complies with global emissions regulations (Euro6 in Europe, Tier2Bin5 in North America, and the Post New Long-Term Regulations in Japan), without expensive NOx after treatment. The recently-introduced 2.0-liter SkyActiv four-cylinder will continue to out-perform the Toyota and Honda models in their segment. The weight savings will most likely push highway fuel economy past the 40-mpg mark. Diesel advocates will be pleasantly surprised to hear that the U.S. spec Mazda3 could join the CX-5 in [offering an oil-burning mill](http://www.leftlanenews.com/mazda-cx-5-diesel-to-pack-310-lb-ft-of-torque.html), although Mazda has not announced a final decision as of yet . As we wrote about in a previous post about the [2014 Mazda 6](http://leducmazda.blogspot.ca/2012/10/mazda-6-edmonton.html) featuring Mazda’s latest [“KODO”](http://www.leftlanenews.com/mazdas-kodo-design-language-here-to-stay.html) design language will grace the exterior, with details similar to those of the new Mazda 6 and CX-9.The interior will be represented by mainly the same that Mazda owner's have been used to. The Mazda 3 will be a major model for Mazda’s U.S. fortunes. At present, the company builds its entire U.S. lineup in Japan, leaving it extremely vulnerable to the profit-eroding strength of the yen. However, the next Mazda3 will be produced in a new factory in Mexico, resulting in higher profits that could prove imperitive should the company start to show red on the built-in-Japan models. Either way you look at it folks Mazda is here to stay and with the recent announcements to their 2014 lineup I would have to simply state that they are here to play as well. Till next time thanks for reading and sharing!
