feel free to send an ask if you're confused on anything in the side story, i'll do my best to answer :)
various things
technically a multishipper but outside of ships involving lee hakhyun any other ship posts will (most likely) only be joongdok (<- even then, don't expect too much). send an ask if you want specifics!
anti-harassment, ship and let ship, YKINMK, etc. that is to say: you won't see any ship bashing coming from me :)
other characters i like a lot: kasane teto (vocaloid), natsume takashi (natsuyuu), angel gabby (angel hare)
queer, trans, some other things. i'm not one to used fixed labels
i was thinking it over, and i'm pretty flexible in my designations, for the most part ^^; here's some random opinions
first of all, yjh's shackled with alpha genes regardless of whether he wants it or not. protagonist privilege 🙂↕️
i am an alpha/beta enjoyer and that fits well with my general preference of both beta kdj and lhh... but i also don't mind omega or alpha kdj! he's versatile enough
on the other hand i can't see lhh as an alpha. it's 100% fav character bias, but nobody who canonically begs to "joonghyuk-nim" in his dreams is an alpha to me <3 im not being serious lol but alpha lhh isn't to my tastes
i don't have any strong preferences/dislikes for the rest of kimcom... maybe no omega heewon but other than that i can fit characters like hsy/ysa/lhs/etc in any role depending on what i want at the moment
and aus, hmm... a long time ago i had the idea of hsy purposely writing out the omegaverse setting in orv to catch a more mainstream audience, which then leads lhh (whose worldline was NOT omegaverse) woefully unaware and unprepared when he gets transmigrated into omega cih. lol
The glow reminds me of : My name is Lee Hakhyun. Not to sound arrogant, but I'm an example of a perfect, pretty boy. I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm just stating a fact for the most part.
context! snowfield kdj gave/passed along information of the future, including her fate:
incarnation jung heewon will kill the being she wanted to protect the most.
snowfield tells her that this fate can't be changed. and jhw can tell that it's the truth. this completely breaks her.
snowfield then tells her there's a way to avoid her fate. jung heewon looks back to snowfield, who reaches out and gives her a... dream of sorts
in this dream, she's forced to realize her fate over and over. if she does it in this fantasy, she won't have to carry out the action in reality.
in the midst of her suffering, she hears a voice and turns to see the 1864th turn's jhw. she already has some knowledge of the 1864th turn, and she knows how strong that jhw is, so for a moment, jhw starts to hope.
1864jhw, with a look of utter indifference, tells her to go kill kdj.
she was going to do it anyway, so what's the holdup?
jhw tries to say she doesn't want this, but 1864jhw tells her that she chose to do this. she chose to stay trapped in this illusion, all to avoid having to face the fate in reality.
[fate] forces jhw to kill kim dokja again. and 1864jhw keeps talking.
(paraphrased) "how do you know the fate would even happen? do you think kdj would have let it happen, if he knew? no, he probably would have, if his sacrifice lets you survive."
jhw concurs 😔 but 1864jhw keeps talking.
jhw wants to stop her [fate]. 1864jhw says she's too weak right now, but she should start by trying to kill kdj painlessly, instead.
at 1864jhw's command, she kills kdj over and over. watching him as he dies, to kill him more efficiently. and as she becomes better at killing kdj, she begins to understand how not to kill him. when she's able to kill kdj before he even notices her, 1864jhw tells her not to use her sword.
cool technique. jhw asks if 1864jhw can use it. she says no. 1864jhw didn't go down the path of transcendence, but 41jhw is different. for her, this is the best way to get stronger.
they continue to talk, about yoo joonghyuk and kim dokja and love and loss, and you should read the chapter yourself if you want the specifics. (this is my attempt to get people to read the side story)
despite her attempts, fate still forces her to draw her sword and kill kdj. but as the loop goes on, she starts getting better. she manages to avoid drawing her sword for ten seconds. then twenty. thirty. one minute, ten minutes, one hour, and eventually, she holds off for an entire day. and as she keeps going, eventually, she doesn't draw her sword. she simply thinks of attacking, and kim dokja collapses. after so long, she finally learns how to use the will formed blade.
something weird happens, then. kdj turns around and faces her. and starts walking toward her. this was her fate's response to her newfound strength. so she moves to cut it down.
there's no way for me to summarize the last part of the chapter succinctly (also i'm lazy) so... ill just give you all of it
「Incarnation Jung Heewon will kill the being she wanted to protect the most.」
Jung Heewon stared directly at that record. Mobilizing every ounce of will she possessed, she directed her killing intent toward that sentence.
Kim Dokja kept coming closer. And when he finally reached three steps away—
「Cut fate.」
The moment she activated the Will-formed Blade, Jung Heewon realized:
「Right now, [Fate] was taking the form of ‘Kim Dokja’.」
And the Kim Dokja within that illusion was one she had created herself. The Kim Dokja she knew. The Kim Dokja she cherished. The Kim Dokja she wanted to protect more than anyone.
「What happens if I cut that Kim Dokja?」
Jung Heewon knew the answer. The moment she cut him, the concept of ‘Kim Dokja’ inside her would disappear. She would forget Kim Dokja. She would permanently lose the person she wanted to protect the most.
With that, [Fate] would exhaust its power.
「[Fate] will be destroyed by inevitably realizing itself.」
Jung Heewon trembled.
Her struggle to cut [Fate] had, more than anything, been a process to carry out [Fate] exactly.
At the very last moment, Jung Heewon finally despaired.
「She could not kill Kim Dokja.」
It was [Fate] precisely because it could not be overcome. Shedding tears of blood, Jung Heewon asked, "You. . . you knew from the beginning that it wouldn’t work, didn’t you?"
Jung Heewon from the 1,864th regression, who had been watching over her, slowly nodded. "Yes."
"Then why did you make me do this?"
"Because you needed to become stronger." Jung Heewon from the 1,864th regression looked at her with calm eyes and said, "At least the you in this place— I hoped you would become strong enough to protect that person."
"I became stronger! If I can’t cut fate even after becoming stronger, what was the point of all this!"
Jung Heewon from the 1,864th regression smiled faintly and looked up at the empty sky.
"You know what? No matter how hard people try, they can’t save each other."
As if there were invisible stars beyond that sky, she slowly reached out her hand.
"The only people who can be saved are those courageous enough to reach out their hand. Even if what touches their fingertips is a blade, they are the ones who can ask to be saved by the tip of that blade. The ones who grasp the opponent’s blade, bleed, and have the courage to stand up again."
Jung Heewon could not understand those words.
As if it were natural that she still couldn’t understand, Jung Heewon from the 1,864th regression smiled and said, "Look at the person in front of you. He’s been calling you this whole time."
Jung Heewon blinked very slowly and looked at the Kim Dokja before her. Then Kim Dokja called to her.
"Heewon-ssi."
It was a voice she had heard countless times. Yet for some reason, in that moment, it sounded different.
"Ah."
Only then did Jung Heewon realize.
「The ‘sentence of fate’ that had been forcing her had already disappeared.」
The one before her now was not the Kim Dokja she had created.
This Kim Dokja—
"Heewon-ssi."
Just how long had it been? How long had he been calling her?
"I’m here."
Hearing Kim Dokja’s voice, Jung Heewon felt like she would collapse.
At that moment, a long white hand reached out before her. Jung Heewon stared blankly at it before grabbing it tightly. Strangely, the moment she held his hand, she felt as if something deep inside her heart had been cut.
"Let’s go back together."
Along with a ray of light, the scenery began to scatter. Watching the space of [Fate] disappear, Jung Heewon hurriedly looked back.
She wanted to ask. Whether she could truly do it. Whether this time she could protect the person she wanted to protect.
But when she turned around, Jung Heewon from the 1,864th regression was no longer there.
「Now the real [Fate] would come for her.」
Amid the scattering light, the voice of Jung Heewon from the 1,864th regression echoed like a reverberation.
—Don’t worry. If you can’t do it, then no one from any worldline can.
Jung Heewon decided to believe her words.
「Thus, finally, all the Kings of the ‘Hall’ had gathered.」
Together with her [Fate], she took another step forward.
