First off, Kit Connor, who plays Nick Nelson, His body got SO MUCH BIGGER. He really looks like Nick from the comics now which I know he was really striving for so iβm so happy for him. They did one shirtless scene of him toward the end of the season and I was like oh okay weβre going that now. Like I think he is absolutely gorgeous, but with his shirt off it defiantly makes him look older, like no 16 year old I knew in high school ever had that kind of muscle mass. Maybe the dimensions and sculpting but thats because they worked out, played sports and were beyond dehydrated and survived off chips and soda.Β
Also their kissing scenes were all great, like I donβt know if they felt forced, but a lot of them didnβt seem genuine. Not like last season. Some of the scenes there connection was amazing, and you could really feel the chemistry, but there were a lot of kisses just thrown in there and I was likeΒ βehβ. There were some cute and intimate scenes that seemed real, but some of the Paris ones were annoying to me. Like the part where they were kissing each otherβs necks and sort of like exploring that sensation, they BOTH had their eyes open, like who does that? it looked unnatural to me and it ruined that moment.Β
I wasnβt too excited over Tara and Darcyβs scenes this season, i donβt know why. It got a little spicy with the parts when Darcy wouldnβt say I love you to Tara, but then it got bland again.Β
The TEACHERS. OMG, I was not expecting them to use the guy they did for Mr. faruok, or whatever but I couldnβt stop laughing. He did not look the least bit comfortable playing a gay part- or at least that is what I interpreted. I mean maybe that is how they wanted it to look, so if that is true they did well.Β
So I donβt know Tao and Elles little spat when Tao finally tries to like take her on a date really annoys me, because she gets all pissed off that heβs trying t impress her and be something he thinks she likes. Like she could have said I like the old you, so just be you and lets go on another date. Like she didnβt had to throw a fit about it and be all likeΒ βyouβre like a completely different person.β I donβt know it was annoying.Β
I like that there were parts of the comics in there and it was all the really iconic parts too. Which was great. I donβt know which one was my favorite to be honest. Maybe the fainting, or maybe the dinner with the families. I also like that there was parts that werenβt in the books either. Like the conversations between Ben and Nick, and how Ben wanted Charlie back. Which I wish I could have seen Nick like fly off the handle or something, that would have been cool.Β
My favorite scene I think out of all of them is the last scene when Nick confronts Charlie about the bullying and how bad it was. Like the way Kit Connor acts in this scene is so immaculate... the way he fluctuates his voice and uses his features to really play the part. To bring in all those complex emotions to the surface at once without making it see in-sincere. He did so well to portray his pain, concern, understanding, and communicate with Josephβs character. Ugh.
I read the comics, so I know that Charlie is going to get bad and have a bunch of issues with his eating disorder, but I hope they bring more of the unknown to the story. I really enjoy the balance they have of following the comics while weaving in other new stuff.Β
