aurora being called eywa in human form did something to my heart
is it safe to say that i actually fucking hate alicent hightower and everything related to her? i absolutely despise her. i have never seen a character who proves that there are beings less intelligent than amoebas and ciliates.
her stupidity, self-righteousness, and hypocrisy, topped off with a disgusting sprinkle of romanticization of her actions and relationships, are off the charts. nothing is ever her fault. Itâs always someone else who put ideas in her head and words in her mouth. always "well, she thought she was doing good." no, she simply has no brain, she cannot think.
alicent is the living embodiment of "you reap what you sow" most of what she suffers from is the direct result of her own actions and choices. at some point, you can no longer blame everything on her "ambitious daddy", or how she was young girl in the horrific situation of forced marriage and forced childbirth, as if sheâs still young and naive. you can be either young and naive, or grown and stupid. there is no such thing as a harmless, stupid adult.
it was unbearable to watch a grown-ass woman "slowly realizing" that she'd been used as a pawn by her father because of his political ambitions - the same man who never even bothered to hide it and was the first to speak up. is she like so fucking slow it took her around 20 years to realize something is off? even when her father sent her to visit the widowed king alone in his chambers in her mother's beautiful half- translucent dress?
she constantly shoots herself in the foot, but everyone around her pays the price first. and even when she does face the fact that it's her own fault - she doesn't learn from her mistakes and sees no consequences. it is always "too late" for her to do anything and it just it. it is not even the "character who purposefully avoid consequences of their actions" type of thing.
there is no even a slap on the face, some people like geeta believe it is not even a big deal between alicent and rhaenyra.
almost all the characters are devoid of any real self-reflection or feelings. even when her daughter stood there crying after her son was beheaded - alicent's first instinct was to talk about how helaena saw her fucking with cole. the same daughter she made believe that if she was good and did her duty, she would be protected.
i still canât get over her smug fucking response: "oh, the arrogance of blaming me, as if you would not have been challenged regardless" when rhaenyra said she brought war. the sheer arrogance of her to wave off her blame because rhaenyra is woman.
and then in the trailer, they try to sell her as "the voice of reason". this woman â who upheld patriarchy, believed a man should sit the throne, usurped the crown princess â now dares to warn rhaenyra that her claim will lead to ruin. and why? simply because she dared to challenge the patriarchal world. because she is a woman, it is not her place, she will not be able to hold the crown and everyone will be dead because of it.
it's just insane - the shit they're doing to her character and then framing it as good, noble, and tragic. she was tragic when she was young â a noble young lady who spent her entire life following orders, honoring duty and traditions. she did everything "right", she behaved "as woman should", she kept her head down, endured her husband's rot, bore his heirs, attended to his wounds, prayed in the sept like a good and pious lady, and swallowed every humiliation.
there are women out there who feel that because they "followed the rules" and behaved the way "women are supposed to" they are owed the things they want, and when they don't get those things - but instead see women who exist outside those rules getting what they want - they become resentful, bitter, vindictive. they don't question the rules, they don't question the system - they question the other women. she hates rhaenyra for things she did because she envious them â but at the same time she hates her for doing this exactly things.
alicent grew up like that, and it was certainly understandable even if still dumb and petty for my taste. but later she turns from envious enraged woman who threw all her strength and voice into shitting on rhaenyra, slutshaming her (it is funny how she accused rhaenyra of things and then, when rhaenyra bit her back with her own words, she said "dont judge me for what you yourself have done". like, yeah, she just called you out on bullshit), spread words of rhaenyra's children being bastards despite it being a treason and can lead to mothers and childrens death, probably not first time made rhaenyra "bring the child immediately" as laenor implied, then raised her children to believe that aegon is the true king, woman can't rule, that rhaenyra will murder them all, that rhaenyra's kids will murder them all too, that they can humiliate each other only if nobody is there to see â to a woman who suddenly surprised that her own children actually grew up to be cruel and absolutely hopelessly detached. then she's suddenly tired of all this war, ready to name rhaenyra queen, and oh, she actually never wished harm upon rhaenyra and her babies! the woman who actually rushed with valyrian steel at her and wanted to cut her son's eye with more than high chance to actually ending up murdering him. but wait â then she suddenly believes that her dead husband's deathbed murmurs were about her son, even if there is zero actual reasons to believe in it and he wasn't even making full sentences, so she usurps rhaenyra, even tried to make rhaenys to side with her by saying "we do not rule but we may guide the men that do". to a woman who was called "our queen to be" by good queen alysanne, and later "the queen who never was" after her rights were stripped away by men. while asking her to help usurp another woman, like a real fucking clown.
all the planning, the scheming, making sure her son knew that she made sacrifices to put him on the throne he never even wanted, hiding the body, the coronation, the locking and murdering of people who are loyal to rhaenyra. the whole war.
and after that? she just... doesn't want war. through the whole war. everything happened only for her to drop her sons after all bloodshed like "fuck em kids" and ask rhaenyra to abandon her husband, her children including two babes, her crown, her home - and just run away with her. the woman who basically did everything to make rhaenyra's life hell.
they not only had a conversation that showed in details how alicent does not give a shit about what harm she caused to rhaenyra because she is desperate for her own relieving of the crown, war and everything, but proved how their friendship outlived long-long ago. it is absurd to think that rhaenyra actually considered it, that the whole scene is definitely normal and eventually lead to whatever we have in trailer and will have in season 3. make it make sense.
i hope she gets crushed by a flying tank or something, will be put out of her misery, because this is just impossible to even comprehend. I've seen a lot of idiotic characters and actions in hotd, but she's the absolute star of this show. true seven star. rhaenyra also gives hints that she will be crazy and this will definitely turn into "a legless blind man says he knows the way and leads by the hand one deaf handless man".
she's doing the stupidest unexplainable shit ever, everyone around her just in pure ass because she had a hand in it, before they kicked her out because of course the men who have been fighting against the woman on the throne won't listen to you and won't think you're important enough, and then everyone is doing whatever mad shit they are doing while she is in rhaenyra's mercy as the sounding of conscience, wisdom and sanity.

Egg meeting Rhaenyra and Jacaerys đĽšđ
i honestly hate how when people talk about jacaerys' plan for the dragonseeds, they only remember the "two betrayers" and say things like how his plan was terrible and led to his mother's downfall and that at least in the show he calls out the plan as stupid. as if addam and nettles were nothing but a joke.
there were two traitors and two loyalists who left rhaenyra for their own safety after she turned on them and was loosing her sanity. not to mention, addam still chose to fight for her cause anyway, just to prove his devotion and how bastards can be noble. just like jacaerys believed in them.
Everything we've been deprived of...
I've already shared my headcanons about the targaryens before, but I want to add that I genuinely love their canon appearance. they're renowned for their striking, otherworldly beauty â pale skin, silver-gold or silver hair, and eyes in varying shades of purple, violet, or indigo.
of course, not every single one of them looks like a man and a woman made love, but they all possess features that make them stand out. they exist on a spectrum - either unsettling, like something out of the uncanny valley, or utterly divine, or terrifyingly beautiful as horrific gods. they truly feel otherworldly, especially when you mix their canonical traits with my headcanons about their dragon blood and unique physics. they're almost like albinos who have their own albinos, if we consider on what race they were based on.
I can see why their appearance would be such a big deal to them and to others. even if rhaenyra's sons had been 100% confirmed as laenor's biological children with DNA test on their foreheads, people would still have pointed fingers at them for not looking enough.
but actually, what I really want to do with this is compliment harwin strong's looks. the strong look â tall, big, strapping, broad-shouldered. lucamore was a strapping, broad-shouldered bull, as was his brother bywin. lyonel was a large, burly man, formidable and often mistaken for a brute. and harwin was the strongest man in the seven kingdoms in his day - massive and redoubtable.
jacaerys, lucerys and joffrey were all described as strapping boys, and I LIVE for that. the combination of targaryen beauty with a strapping, athletic build actually makes them more attractive to me. oh, they would have gone far with this, and their wits and skill at arms.
I like the actors, but I like idea of "strong-look" more ngl, especially when the show stripped even the intellectual aspects from their characters.
I absolutely love the idea of them all being that big and robust. I always include this in my fanfic ideas. I love headcanoning that all the kids inherit the strong looks â the strong physique, the height. and the daughters too! tall, wirth defined appearance of muscles, or just really muscular, solid, sturdy build, or built thick.
often people use a strong!reader in their fics, but it usually only affects hair and/or eye color. that's not enough for me. In my head, I can clearly see how aegon would be visibly hot and bothered by a woman who is taller and more built than him. or aemond - given his personality and skills - being completely undone by a lady who can finally match him physically. or any other character you want! I just love tall and strong women, especially since I'll never be that way in real life, even if I lived in a gym. I also find this trope incredibly cool when applied to rhear oyce - I definitely have that in my head, her being that muscular. and for some stark women and mormonts too.

twin! aerion living his best life with his twin flame, his twin sister! reader, fully convinced it's only a matter of time before the family decides to betroth them. they're dragons, after all, she's his valyrian bride, flesh and blood made for each other, bonded by womb and by duty.
and then she pulls "nah, I love you only like a brother đ"
maekar agrees, because separately they're a nightmare and they're absolute fucking nightmare that nightmares have when they are together, so that's how aerion found his thirteenth reason why.
when someone made c.ai oc characters so good you wish to have a sitcom with these characters&plot or at least fanfic
I'm struggling hard with my fic for The Last Kingdom, because the only believers in my life are: a lesbian from a Catholic school, a pantheist, and an Orthodox Christian who's outside any denomination. And the only things I know is "God is love, and love is above Old Testament law" plus "God is love - without understanding and accepting that, you understand nothing else." Then there's the whole idea that "every sin can be weighed against an act of faith" in TLK. That's just not my shit.
Like, no. Kindness to a beggar or forgiveness of an enemy is a personal matter - God gets no benefit from it. But building a monastery, granting land to the Church, killing enemies, or baptizing an entire tribe? That's real reparation. Literally do ut des.
In the East, theology took a different path. It emphasized theosis and the healing of the soul. Sin wasn't seen as a legal debt owed to God, but as a disease. And a disease isn't cured by conquering a neighboring country. It's only cured by inner transformation, repentance, and acts of love. And it makes sense to me personally.
And now I'm confused, because I can't just pull this crap out of nowhere in fic with real religion. It's?? immoral?? Blasphemous?? I can't just make characters think in such way about religion and themselves by having interactions with my character? (The least of their problems is to have a new way of thinking about religion, i made up fucking lands and pulled out prophesy out of my ass and made it so dramatic because I was Inspired by asoiaf and my mary sue era with feminism, like, it was very unrealistic but I want to have weird magician queen in old ass tlk time)
I'm not even partly religious myself. I grew up in a family where you can't say there's no God - but you can believe that you have your own God, no matter what face that God wears. It's just you and your faith. The only real believer around me was my grandmother, who taught me prayers. I'm generally drawn to religion because it helps me cope with trauma mentally, while I'm also getting real treatment from specialists. Religion for me is more like a psychological move and therapy through some actions, that's why healing through transformation makes sense to me. đŤ
And in general, this is only partially, the idea of equality takes up more space in my head and I think about using Uhtred and even mc mostly as a bridge between danes and sax like...with idea of not biting each other's fucking heads since god is in the earth underfoot, which feeds both the saxon and the dane. in the sky above us, which covers all. gods argue loudly but the earth unites silently and blah blah. I think I'm taking on too much, seriously. Too bold for someone who was in church only 2 times - first time because my grandmother brought me in thinking there was a demon in me (there was adhd in me) and the second time when I was lost and couldn't find the main door.
I need someone to share their opinion with me.
