whim of dragonrider, choosing "him" in the end to walk her path with. as if "him" is some kind of random evil dude, and not her uncle-husband-father-of-her-children. Imagine having ex-girlfriend beef over a married woman who never even hinted at anything more, had zero obligation to, and had every possible reason not to.

why are they acting as if they gave her everything only for her to leave for daemon, when he was there before all of them. he was there, but sure, we will talk about her as if its some villainous act for not prioritizing unspoken things, making her supposedly responsible for something she never promised, never agreed to, and frankly never even knew was expected of her.

mysaria's "rhaenyra knows what daemon is" just sent me. i cant, as if it's just some matter of time when she will choose her. does rhaenyra even know she's supposed to choose and there's any choosing? is it really that deeply surprising and unsettling that she would choose her own husband as the one to walk this path with even if its messy?

the fact that BOTH of them one another acting personally wounded, as if they were ever anywhere near the top of her priority list, as if there was no reasons for her being close with daemon, is almost breathtaking in its self-importance. I can't decide if it's tragic or just hilariously delusional. either way, I'm dying.

It breaks my heart that helaena is kinda our breaking the cycle, and yet she'll be gone so soon. alicent saw herself in her daughter, her love never stemmed from genuine favoritism, its more about painful recognition. In the cruelest twist, alicent raised helaena in her own image, repeating the very patterns that imprisoned her, despite claiming she wants to protect her. but helaena, despite everything, never reduced children to extensions of aegon's claim, nor did she believe she could simply walk away once her "duty" was done, because her mother promised her a lot.

alicent always holds her children at arm's length, as i said thousands times, she is distant, they are viserys's, never truly hers, and they never will be, they are doomed to run after their mothers skirts, argue and hate who was favorite, who was loved more, when alicent not even fully able to love herself. but helaena, oh my sweetest, fought back, drowning out that "aegon's heirs" shit with a scream "IT'S MINE. ITS MY OWN"

kinda feeling petty, because i refuse to accept how the golden cloaks were depicted. they were described as loyal, devoted even, not a pack of mercenaries ready to gut each other over back pay. they had nothing on their conscience, absolutely zero leverage against them, before daemon stepped in. they initiated on their own in the books, "daemon gave us these golden cloacks and they're gold no matter how you turn them" and it was stated they still remember him, they love him, they spread their admiration, because this is certain type of people he had under his influence and they are like wild pack, and in show daemon is told he was absent for too long, and it's clear these are not the same men, they no longer remember him. so they willingly exchange stability, order, and a firm hand for the chaos and uncertainty of some hightower upstart, with such gut wrenching cruelty because they are not paid. these people once wore rags, they were no one and nothing, they were given status, resources, and purpose and now they bite the hand that raised them from mud? they were shameful sight when the treasury was full and didn't try to load anyone, surprisingly.

Just saw the interview where Curry Barker explained that it's totally possible to get a normal wish from the One Wish Willow, and I love the way they did that so much. How I feel reading smut while being scared of intimacy in real life

steve giving dustin advice about girls in the early seasons always struck me as unexpectedly girlish in the most stereotypical sense, because here's the thing - some girls know exactly what some guys think when they try to charm them. all handsome, confident and bold, it’s transparent. they know the guy thinks he's irresistible, and that very assumption puts the girl in the position of an easy target. she might actually like him, but rarely for the reasons he imagines - and she certainly doesn’t want to seem desperate, like someone who caves too quickly and gets discarded just as fast.

sure, some people enjoy hot and cold game, but for others, especially girls who know their own minds, it’s not about being prudish or playing hard to get, but about self-respect and protecting your feelings. and the irony is that steve, of all people, ends up embodying the very dynamic while giving it as "being so manly, so hot, having game, girls throwing themselves at him" and shit. he talks like the seasoned player, but he behaves like the one who's emotionally exposed, yk, the "desperate girl" of the metaphor. he pretends to be hard to get, he relishes the chase, he's the one earnestly searching for "the one." It’s a funny contradiction when you step back and look at the full picture.

I know I’m kind of talking out of my ass here, but just get ittt?? i cant put it better. steve harrington is constantly placed in the "man’s role" like giving advice, protecting others, taking the lead, even clashing with jonathan over masculine authority in that very 80s, stereotypical way, but beneath all that, steve wants to be courted. the pretty boy likes the chase.

I don't understand ryan's logic. he cuts nettles to avoid complicating daemyra, yet left kiss between rhaenyra and mysaria. i think kiss likely carries little emotional weight for rhaenyra, though it clearly seems to mean something to mysaria, but then how are we supposed to interpret their dynamic? as a "minor misstep"? as "not cheating if it's with a woman"? as "justified if you believed he'd abandoned you"?

If they removed the "threat" for daemyra, it means that mysaria and her kiss with rhaenyra are not a threat.

honestly, it's almost darkly comedic to imagine mysaria being so smug and bold with daemon over rhaenyra, when from rhaenyra's side, there appears to be no real foundation for that kind of claim even if they are pushing them being "so close, so open, so vulnerable with each other, so trusty with each other". it is not sweet when daemon fucked mysaria when he was emotionally vulnerable and distressed and rhaenyra kissed her at the moment of her own vulnerability and distress. mysaria comforted them both the same way - with putting them in position when they feel they can be vulnerable and hear that they are important.

they added female-bonding softness and understanding between two women, but still said "that hooking up with daemon's former lover is a clever way for rhaenyra to reclaim some power in her complex marriage", so basically she is here to tickle problems as daemon did multiple times and she confronted him.

It can coexist, sure, but that only proves that whatever rhaesaria has isn't pure when she's still thinking about her husband and seeking his embrace anyway. mistress is mistressing only when rhaenyra has problems with daemon.

the kiss was the worst possible creative choice, because it undercuts what could have been a genuinely meaningful dynamic. mysaria offering vulnerability and trust, and rhaenyra reciprocating - especially when she so desperately needs a friend, independent woman on her own who doesn't see a woman belonging to herself as something alien or struggles with it. now rhaenyra speaks for her, protects her, trusts her - and she could have done all of that out of friendship, we could have had a scene of two women sharing a soft, honest moment of genuine connection, but instead, the show added a sexual layer, and now all of that is flushed down the drain. everything is reduced to "hoho they want scissorring". It cheapens everything that made their connection stand out, it's just now rhaenyra being like daemon but a softer version.

I never stop wondering how alicent does the stupidest thing in the show over and over – she really can't do anything herself, and when she does take initiative, she never thinks about how it'll turn out, and then it all goes to shit. she was always obedient, doing what others wanted her to do, she was guided and it was easy – bearing the weight of someone else's decision was easier than bearing the consequences of your own actions and choices. It was her conscious choice to send daeron to oldtown, it was her conscious choice to have him grow up hightower – in a fucking place that's practically a source of religion, everything that's the opposite of what the targaryens are. she herself said "you targaryens have queer customs" and how in the end she imagined her child being raised in place that favored this mindset when his grandparents from father's side are siblings who are children of siblings. she consciously tore the boy away from his roots, from people who is just like him, who had a connection with dragons and shared sky with them, to put him completely alone in a place where he would feel alien, wrong, dirty, guilty.

she did it for herself and her own feelings only – how it would be good to have a proper hightower son, from her roots – and she didn't give a fuck how wrong it is and how it looks. her best act of motherhood is the most fucking cruel one alongside with marrying helaena and aegon, when she "wanted to protect her daughter" by forcing her to go her way and saying "you'll be protected if you do what you're told," only to end up not fulfilling the promise to protect her.

like, it's just disturbing?? like what the fuck? and she had no actual evidence that this is a good idea and there are people she can trust besides her brother. and she still WAGED for this decisions, because obviously decision is fucked up and there's people against it. she came to the conclusion that it wasn't so bad until later, when she was told he was good and she can compare him to her other sons - it was literally an attempt to throw a baby into the dark, and she lived without having a clue what happened to him.

alicent is a very stable character in her own stupidity, I doubt ryan and sara ever planned to make her eight grade bully with medieval era trauma and zero awareness, but it happened and it's stupid. and i cant help but cry for daeron because my boy is doomed - he grew up in such shitty place, faced only shit and he will soon die while knowing nothing but shit 🫠 very short and very sad life.

and i loved book daeron - him and jace are perfect duo. perfect prince and perfect councilor. clever, courteous, modest, gentle and brave boy who became nothing but a victim. just like alicent is nothing but a victim, characters always end up screwed when she's somehow connected to them, and now they've drawn parallels between her and daeron, and this character is really just suffering until he dies.
