Here are my best 6 sketches from last nights Life Drawing at the Paddock Art Sudios, Lewes. The model was Lorraine Yu. For a few of the poses I couldn't see her face - so I drew a couple of the other attendees. These are all 10 minute sketches.

Another bunch of portraits from the Paddock Studio Life Drawing sessions that I attend. The life model got caught up with train trouble so took it in turns to drew each other. These were all 10 minute studies drawn with a 4b woodless graphite pencil and a white pencil.

my 4 favourites from a recent Life Drawing (clothed) session in Brighton - hosted by DRAW Brighton at the open House pub.

These sessions are great and very well attended.

I think there were almost 70 attendees there for this one - filling up 3 large rooms in the pub.

groups sit in a circle and take it in turns to sit in the centre for ten minutes and be the model.

Some experiments with sketching on top of coloured paper strips glued to the page. These give the overall drawing an extra vitality I think.

Life Drawing went really well last night - I actually managed to capture the likeness of the model (Kharis) the coloured sketches on White paper were each 3 minute studies and then the drawings on the tan toned paper were each 10-20 minute studies.

This is a rather colourful rendition of this house approach - such a beautiful pathway through a sumptuous garden with pots, rocks and sprawling foliage.
