And for the longer poses of Felix I opted to use 2 coloured pencils - Dark Blue for the shadows and Yellow for the highlights - all on A3 Tan paper. I'm not quite sure any of them actually look like Felix - but they hopefully give the viewer some idea of the man.

Here is a trio of Urban Sketches that I did a month or so ago in Shoreham by Sea.

I really enjoyed this day on my own with my paint set and an A4 sketchbook but I wasn't too sure I liked my paintings at the end of the day.

I hid them away for a month and now that I have dug them out I'm quite happy with the results.

I don't always draw portraits - for a recent Drawing Workshop I asked everyone to draw a collection of glass bottles and jars. Here are my attempts. They are bit wonky - but I've grown to appreciate like them for what they are - not what they should have been.

Here are 4 quick (10 minute) sketches I did during one of my Drawing Workshops in Haywards Heath. The models are Lindsay, Steve, Rebecca and Martina. I didn't quite get as far with the Martina sketch because I had to try to get the hands looking good too. These were all done with a dark Blue and Bright Yellow pencil on A4 Tan paper.

Here are my best 6 sketches from last nights Life Drawing at the Paddock Art Sudios, Lewes. The model was Lorraine Yu. For a few of the poses I couldn't see her face - so I drew a couple of the other attendees. These are all 10 minute sketches.

Another bunch of portraits from the Paddock Studio Life Drawing sessions that I attend. The life model got caught up with train trouble so took it in turns to drew each other. These were all 10 minute studies drawn with a 4b woodless graphite pencil and a white pencil.
