His mouth hung open for a moment, then finally closed and he laughed. Not the nervous ‘haha… please don’t really kill me’ sort of laugh you’d see in the movies, but a genuine laugh of humor. “No worries, I can appreciate the sentiment, both ways!” grinned Cooper. His first impression was that he liked the vampire, he was cool, laid back and quite handsome. “Jack and Coke, though, I am a little happy to hear that. Mostly you find some Euro-trash accent spouting wannabe with a bloody Mary or something talking about the Victorian era.”

“It would be weird if I talked about the Victorian Era because I’m Korean, and wasn’t even there during that time frame,” Hye chuckled softly. “Now if you want to hear about the Joseon Dynasty, and the World Wars, I’ll spit off about that in my own accent,” he joked softly, taking a sip of his drink. “Quite stereotypical of vampires, hmm?” he continued to teased, not at all caring. He shifted, glancing around the party before back to Cooper.

“Do I want to guess what you’re drinking?” asked Cooper as he leaned slightly forward towards the vampire. He had his own red Solo cup, but it just had beer in it, so nothing too remarkable for him. He knew the undead had their own special needs diet, but it did raise the question (which fascinated him) of how they blended into a place like this - at a party or even how would you go about a business lunch one day? This was what the future held for him to discover and one day share with the world to make everyone understand. People feared what they did not understand - and he’d understand it all.

Hye raised an eyebrow whenever he heard the question, glancing down to his red solo cup, taking in the dark liquid. “It’s Jack and Coke,” he replied with a small shrug. “Not beer like yours,” he continued, scrunching up his nose playfully, “Though, I’d rather be drinking you.” He paused though, cringing inside when he realized how shitty of a pick-up line that was. Given, Cooper wouldn’t fall into his little trap-- Hye knew he wasn’t interested, but a vampire could only hope that one day the man would let him rock his world. “I didn’t mean that in I’m hungry way,” he followed up quickly, “More-- you know, you know what I mean.”

Really, Lev sometimes wondered why he went into teaching. He liked talking about his subject, of course, but students? Essays? Sitting in an office and doing actual work while waiting for anyone who had questions to show up? Not at all Levs idea of a good time. So, most of the time, when he didn’t have a class he had to be teaching, Lev was doing exactly this- finding someone on campus who could entertain him. Hye was usually a safe bet, and a fun one as well, so - here he was. At the others question, Lev grinned, shrugging slightly. “Was I wrong?” He asked in return, stepping closer to the other. “I mean, you do look fairly busy - I’m sure I can find someone else to entertain me if you’d rather keep painting.” Half a tease, and half a serious offer - Lev was perfectly willing to fuck off if the other wasn’t in the mood after all.

Hye’s lips raised up in a smile smirk. Was I wrong? “No, you weren’t wrong, and I’m not at all too busy for you,” Hye breathed out, setting aside his painting. His landscape, as much as he was dying to keep painting, could wait. Right now, he had something, someone, in front of him that was promising such a fun time. He sat back in his chair, raising an eyebrow to the other with a smirk. It was times like this he was grateful he was always the one to grade ahead of time. “What did you have in mind for as entertainment?”

Doesn’t exactly seem like the kinda thing you normally visit, judging by how you’re hiding out in here.”

Hye watched Alex, nursing his bottle of vodka quietly as she picked out her own poison. It wasn’t like Hye was against having fun at a party. Not at all. In fact, he wasn’t the best example of a professor either, what with his antics of having sex inside his office, going to bars regularly, and flirting with everything that moved. No, he wasn’t a perfect, PG worthy example of a professor. But he had pushed pass going to frat parties. He was cringing even being here, but he still had some small hope the cutie he had come with would come back (he probably wasn’t). And Alex seemed to pick up one that, causing him to outwardly cringe. “Yeah, I don’t usually come to these types of parties, but I seem to be ending up at them lately. I truthfully came with someone but the other person disappeared when they saw friends so, I’m here, for free liquor,” he explained softly, raising an eyebrow towards her. “What are you doing here?

hands clasped the wooden paintbrush , as she tried her hand at something she wasn’t normally use too. art, had seemed to be something she rarely frequented because of her musical vocals. however, what lay before her was something out of a child’s coloring book. her attention turned to the teacher, as she gave a rather weary expression. was it a portrait of them or the image they were hoping the students would try to embody. ‘ well picasso had to start off somewhere, ’ she quipped hesitantly, as her dark hues shuffled toward her teacher and back to her painting.

Hye liked to think he was a pretty chill teacher and not at all harsh grader-- even if it was hard sometimes to not be judgmental. But sometimes he taught the beginner level classes, and you had to not be judgmental. He had learned a long time ago to simply grade technique instead of how good something was. And that’s what he was looking for. Though, it seemed students weren’t listening, so by the time he came over to her, he was weary himself. He smiled lightly at the Picasso comment (even if Picasso wasn’t one of his favorite artists). “You’re correct. Every artist had to start off somewhere and perfect their practice,” he replied softly, glancing over her work. It didn’t look... awful.

But he was still having fun, perking up whenever he heard a familiar voice. Acario. A student he had had a semester or so ago. He grinned at the slightly tipsy student, gently patting his devil horns. “A devil. Or the devil. Because I’m a handsome devil,” he joked, chuckling softly, “I’m missing my tail, so if you find it, let me know.”

She’s pretty sure this party was supposed to have been students only at its conception, but really, Alex doesn’t care. The greek life houses always had the best parties in her opinion, which was really based on how easily the good shit flowed, and how likely it was that she’d get laid, and the student parties were always full of cheap beer and slightly better drugs, and had the bonus of none of her more “serious” coworkers to deal with the morning after. So here she was, pushing through the crowd, flask of vodka nearly empty, her “slutty nun” costume already hiked up high enough to leave her in danger of flashing the room at any second, not that she cared. In fact, that was part of the fun for her. A break in the crowd gave her the chance to slip into the kitchen, and the brunette couldn’t help but smirk as she approached the counter that was covered in booze and mixers, arching an eyebrow at the figure already standing in front of it. “So, what is it a girl has to do around here to get some booze, huh?”

This was ridiculous, Hye thought, as he leaned against the counter of the kitchen of a house he had no idea who lived there and nor did he care. He had met someone at the local bar--a student, he believed-- who had promised free booze and a good time only to be dragged to a greek life house. Personally, he wouldn’t have went there by himself, yet here he was. The person had disappeared with friends and that’s where Hye found himself in the most quiet part of the house-- the kitchen with all the free booze. He had given up pouring himself his own cup and instead had taken the bottle of vodka now and began to sip from it when he was interrupted by a semi-familiar face. He smiled to... Alex? He figured her named was Alex-- the few times they had met at the local bar. “Literally nothing. All you have to do is grab it,” Hye chuckled, shaking his own bottle of vodka. “You just can’t have this bottle.”

But something in the back of his head told him to be social, to do something out of the box that he wouldn’t normally be doing. Socialize with the professors and staff and students. Don’t be a grumpy vampire when he was so very not. He took a sip of his drink, preoccupied with watching the people dance, when he was interrupted by... a beauty. Asking to dance. Immediately, he smiled, giving a small nod. “Well only if you’re offering,” he teased. He downed the rest of his drink quickly, not at all shyly taking her hand. “Lead the way.”

The hallways of the art building aren’t actually ones Lev walks all that often in his day to day life, considering his theology courses are largely held in a smaller building on the far edge of campus, but every so often he found himself over on this side of campus with nothing to do. So, never one to deny himself an impulse, Lev headed down a familiar set of hallways, opening a familiar door and striding in like he owned the room, not stopping until he was in front of Hye. the room was free of students at least, which meant Lev didn’t have to wait for them to get the hint and leave. “I’m bored, I have three hours until my next class, and if I grade one more paper I might just throw a desk at one of my students that can’t grasp the sexual metaphors present in the artwork of mid century christian art. It was in between classes, about two hours before Hye had another class. He sat in his office, painting on a small canvas because it was office hours, and students never came to office hours for him. So, he sat, alone, painting, chewing his lip as he focused. He didn’t even glance up whenever he heard the door open, waiting for the person to speak. However, whenever the other spoke... well, Hye immediately looked up with a smirk. Lev. Just the man he was glad to see and who could pull him from his boredom of painting and repainting the same goddamn tree. “And so you came to me because you knew I’d be that someone or something you could do?” he hummed, plopping his paintbrush into the cup of water, barley missing his cup of coffee (it happened too often).
