Remember when joining fandom as a younger person meant lurking for a bit and figuring out the vibe and etiquette instead of coming in on day one and calling people weirdos for liking weirdo shit in the weirdo factory.
Sirius always thought falling in love would feel like fire, something loud and overwhelming and impossible to miss.
But then it's Remus, and it's quiet. It's easy. It's the feeling of coming home after a long day and realizing the light was left on for you.
And somehow that's so much scarier.

The other man’s mouth moves for a few more words, but Remus isn’t sure what he’s saying—he’s never been all that great at lipreading. Their rental is a small single bedroom flat near Genoa, with just a short jaunt to the beach. From the windows, the blue waters glisten in the midday sun, and the breeze flits in. The small flat is older but has been heavily remodeled inside, contrasting the worn, coral stucco outside walls.
Sirius pokes around, taking in the cramped bedroom, the pale turquoise tiled bathroom, the tight, stocked kitchen and the narrow living room. It's furnished with colorful, quirky pieces of furniture that seem to have no real theme aside from 'colorful', from the green chairs at the glass dining table to the odd blob-shaped mirror above the sink. There's a colorful mural of a tree painted on the wall opposite the couch, a little TV sitting on a stand that's probably from the 2010s, but it's charming. It's perfect.
Sirius tosses open the double doors in the living room and bedroom that lead to their tiny, private courtyard patio to let in the warm breeze, the lack of air conditioning already suffocating in the heat. Remus drops their luggage in the bedroom and comes out to join Sirius, sleeves of his loose linen shirt already rolled up to expose his forearms. He wastes no time wrapping around Sirius from behind where he's flipping through the 'Genoa for dummies' guidebook left by their hosts. His hands press against Sirius' abdomen, warming him through the fabric of his t-shirt. Sirius leans back against him, eyes falling closed as Remus tucks his face against the crook of Sirius' neck and inhales, the rise and fall of his chest steady at his back.
"I want to play a game," Remus says after a moment. A little thrill runs down Sirius' spine, gut tightening in anticipation.

A Group Which Almost Became Historic
It's been over a decade since I first read Les Mis, and first drew this, (which still floats around in reblogs, the original post now being deleted with my old blog) and I thought I ought to finish this for Barricade Day. At the time, that illustration was the most ambitious I had ever drawn.
In the last ten years, Les Mis has perhaps felt more pertinent than ever. In Australia, where I live, bigoted, far-right political parties that were previously considered fringe are leading polls on the back of racist, anti-immigration rhetoric. I donate regularly to a charity that supports refugees that is local to me, the Asylum Seeker Resource Center, and am going to do so again today. I encourage you to do the same, either to the ASRC, or to an equivalent charity in your area.

1. which of your fics is your pride and joy?
aaaa all of them? not an answer? oh okay, right now i guess it would be MOMENTUM, i did a ton of research for it and i adore the characters so much. i was able to explore some feelings and things i've been trying to express for a while and it was really cathartic to write.

7. what's a fic you didn't expect to be popular but really took off?
ummm idk if any of them really qualify as "popular" and i never really expect anyone to read my fic (not to be self-deprecating) BUT, i was surprised that people read and liked Don't Be Stupid, it was the first age gap fic i wrote and i didn't expect many people to read it at all
12. would you ever accept requests or commissions?
no commissions for fics, but probably requests. i've done little micro-request things before! for fanart, i've done both and might do it again someday.
16. do you make playlists for your fics?
yes! not always, but sometimes! I made one for MOMENTUM. i'm not very good at them though, i usually just go for songs i find that make me think of the fic lol
