It’s a very isolating feeling to look around at the world, the people surrounding you, and watch them go about their living in sound. They interact with the sound, ya know? Not just with other people, but with life. You don’t realize all the sounds your ears are picking up, and the healthy, living nerves in your ears are transporting the signals so your brain can translate the sounds into intelligent awareness of what you’re hearing. It’s a pretty radical and incredibly intelligent design — the human ear.

And when you’re watching all the humans interacting with sound in almost everything they do, and you’re just seeing them do all this...seeing it in silence. A silent animation of life. That’s what my ears hear. It’s pretty radical and incredibly eye-opening.
