guys today was my first day of creative writing club and they asked icebreakers and one was "what's your favorite show" and I said total drama and then we did one word story and the first word was "kaleidoscope" and I said "total drama reference?" a little too loud and everyone started laughing I honestly have to bring up total drama every meeting now because it sounds like I'm obsessed so I just have to keep up the bit

i dont think its that abnormal for a large majority of td fans to prefer the g1 cast opposed to the other gens which for some reason seems to be a hot take. more characters naturally leads to more options for people to latch onto when liking characters, and ones from the first gen have the most amount of freedom to be portrayed with when it comes to archetypes theyre based on. idk

bridgette's elimination in world tour would have been more impactful (for both her and alejandro) if her relationship with geoff was used against her. throughout action, we see that bridgette is increasingly insecure. geoff, in the midst of his "captain hollywood" phase, belittles her repeatedly ("heather is the hottest girl on the show," worrying that she'll get fat just because she ate a sandwich or two). even after they resolve this she feels like she's not good enough for geoff, attacking him when he gives too much attention to another girl. this is a small moment in comparison, but i think that her voting confessional in world tour, where she's so distracted by her make-up that she almost forgets to vote entirely, is another sign of insecurity. especially when you remember that in season 1 she was against using make-up, preferring the "natural look." maybe this came about because of geoff? bridgette telling alejandro that she "kinda has a boyfriend" would have been the perfect chance for him to attack those insecurities. if alejandro insinuated that geoff didn't truly love her, i think it would've made her more sympathetic and showcased alejandro's tactics more clearly. in canon, he just kind of flatters her a bit and she falls for it immediately, despite her relationship with geoff (seemingly) being as in-tact as ever. this small change would've added some needed depth to her as a character (and her and geoff as a couple).

hopefully that makes sense, i haven't rewatched action or world tour in a long time so i might be forgetting some details.

side-note: something i didn't notice until recently is that alejandro tends to target people who are either in relationships or in some kind of romance-related drama (he convinces harold to quit in order to impress leshawna, he begins flirting with courtney directly after the gwuncan kiss, etc.). interestingly, the two girls he helps in the pyramid challenge (bridgette and lindsay) are both in committed relationships.
