The hotness of the day didn’t seem to bother Guy too much. The material that most of his clothing was made out of was on the thin side, and then the sleeves of his shirt were baggy as well. Aside from his hands being a bit sweaty from the gloves he wore, the ex-servant was on the cool side while travelling in this heat. He was happy that his outfit seemed to be so convenient in this place at this time and that he wouldn’t be melting here anytime soon either.
Of course, he hadn’t necessarily predicted what the temperatures would be like in this place seeing as how he’d actually wandered here almost on accident. Now with so much free time on his hands, the nobleman had taken it upon himself to explore as much as he could. Learning about the worlds that existed aside from his own only fueled his natural curiosity, causing him to travel and visit as many places as possible for himself.
He was practically in awe at the fact that there were so many cities and towns, countries and regions, and so much more that he’d had no prior knowledge of before his realization that Auldrant was far from the only world existing. The architecture, the style, and the people were all so unique and exotic to him. Gailardia felt like a small child as he shuffled along, eyes wide with wonder at every new sight while his ears took in every unfamiliar sound that accompanied the areas in which he currently was.
He’d been here for a small while now, a bit used to everything around him (though he wasn’t going to lie to himself and say that he wasn’t hopelessly lost) and now he was looking onward, casually walking rather than studying the place anymore. His attention was no longer on the scenery, now looking forward. He hadn’t any idea where he’d end up, but that was part of the adventure, wasn’t it? He saw a man grow nearer, though he seemed distracted. Guy hadn’t expected the other to run into him, causing him to wobble rather ungracefully.
Regaining his own balance, he straightened himself and looked towards the other just in time to meet the sour gaze of the bespectacled youth, picking up the edge to his voice. He was embarrassed that he hadn’t stepped out of the way, but the other didn’t even make an attempt to move either… They were both at fault when it came down to it, but Guy treated it as his mistake alone out of habit.
“M-My apologies. I suppose I was a bit distracted; I didn’t mean to run into you like that. You alright?” He didn’t expect something like that to have harmed the other, but it was only right to ask just in case.
It came as a surprise that the other showed such manners, and not only that, but that he showed concern and didn't retort was unexpected. Hubert was of high enough status to be treated very well, but he was still used to the burning feeling of inadequacy. Be it biological family, adoptive family or just people he didn't know. They would often try his limits. This man seemed friendly, and it put Hubert on guard enough to make him unsure of how to respond. In other words, he felt bad. But everything be damned if he'd let it be known.
Hubert straightened up his back and put his hands together behind his back. It made him look more like the noble he was supposed to be.
"Yes, I'm quite alright. I suppose I am also at fault."
He said this very "as a matter of fact"ly, a stern way to his words, and almost by routine. He really hoped the other was alright as well, and that he wouldn't be cross with him.
Pascal did not notice that anyone was standing in her way as she was hurrying down the street.
The sudden collision made her lose her footing and she fell backwards down on the ground. “Owwie~ that kinda hurt~! Oh gosh, i’m sorry I did not-“ The white-red haired woman blinked a couple of times to be sure she was seeing right. A big grin spread across her face as she recognized the all-too familiar face. ” H-Hey, It’s lil’ bro!” “Are you not suppli-posed to be in Fendel right now? It’s great to see you again!”
Hubert's concentration dropped a few levels when he first saw who he had collided with. That gradient hair and disposition filled with energy was unmistakable. He just stared, unable to speak for a moment, until his glasses started gliding down on his nose and he shook himself back and pushed them up while inhaling deeply. It wouldn't do to lose his calm, even though he hadn't seen this woman for some time.
"Hello, Pascal. I just returned, in fact. And aren't you supposed to be back at the enclave?"
The boy avoided her eyes purposely. This was a poor attempt, but it kept him from losing his cool.

The world sure liked to keep him busy nowadays, but Hubert didn't mind. He enjoyed being useful, in fact he thrived being able to do something of importance. On the surface though, he looked like the same stern-faced boy. It wasn't often he'd ease on the walls surrounding him willingly, but it was however not so challenging for someone to jolt them down if they knew how to push his buttons.
Today was almost too warm for comfort. Hubert had previously paid a visit to Fendel in business, and the place was known to be rather cold. He had almost gotten used to it before returning to Strahta, the contrast now causing him to sweat in the blazing sun. He would re-adapt eventually though, there was no need or time for complaints and he would recover either way.
Hubert was just making his reappearance in the home of his adoptive father, leaving him with some work before heading out once more. Although he had only just arrived, the air around him and the other man was still strained, and Hubert didn't wish to deal with the tension.
Out and about in the smoldering streets now, back straight and walk graceful, the lieutenant set his sights past the residential areas and marketplaces, towards his scheduled meeting with the president. A drop of water distracted him though, and his pace slowed down as he turned his head to watch the beautiful work of a fountain at his side. While his attention had broken, he didn't see the person heading his way though, and the both of them collided almost head-on. Hubert's feet shuffled, he fell forward from the shoulder bump and almost hit the ground. His calm demeanor vanished in an instant but his polished manners were intact.
"Would you please watch where you're going?"
Even though it had been his fault for not paying attention...
Heey! Lil' Bro! <3 HOW ARE YOU?? It was AGES since we last talked!
The boy felt his cheeks flush when he heard that familiar voice, but he jailed it by clearing his throat and pushing up his glasses. This insufferable woman and her antics...
"Good day, Pascal. One could argue that we haven't talked because you are always off on one of your escapades. Did Fourier attempt to make you bathe again?"
His tone sounded almost cross, like he had missed the girl and therefore showed his displeasure towards the two not having seen each other for some time.
// Thank you for the follows!! It's great to be here u mmm
I'll make some starters for you tomorrow, a bit pooped atm.
Inadequacy once told him: "Don't be yourself. No one wants you."
What else could he believe, when everything else had forsaken him, when he even agreed? At times, this young fellow clad in blue would wonder. Looking at his current name, had he ever been a Lhant? Had he ever been anything?
The boy's fingers curled stiffly, crumpling up a few pieces of paper on the desk. No. He wasn't anything. So he had made something of himself on his own, and shaped his life and everything surrounding it with his own fingers. Or so Hubert told himself at least. The truth of the matter was that someone else's fingers was still shaping him. Not that of his brother, but his adoptive father, this time.
His uniform suddenly felt tight around his neck, so he moved one finger up to invite some air by pulling at the collar. There was a mirror on the wall above the desk, a very small shelf below it kept a few small personal effects, the only things he had left of his old life. Hubert sighed, looking at them. There was something soft about his face now, a conceding look in his stern eyes. Then a smile, only for a split second, until it washed away through a knock on the door.
The Strahtan warmth seeped into his clothes again. Hubert pushed his glasses up and straightened his back.
"Yes?"
Back to the shaper.
