⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Thank you! It can be a little intimidating trying to find someone to sit with,” Leila brushed off her initial apprehensiveness with a smile, even though the feeling in the pit of her stomach ceased to fade away. “Oh, I’m Leila! Nice to meet you...?” ⌟

Laser looked at the girl standing over him. “Hi.” He replied before looking to the seat in question. “You’re free to sit there.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Thank you!” Leila moved around to the opposite side of the table and sat, glancing nervously from her tray to the stranger across from her -- masking it with a sheepish smile. “I appreciate it. I’m Leila, by the way.” ⌟

“Hmm?” Thea glanced up when she noticed the shadow of someone standing over her. She hasn’t heard what the other girl asked; but by her body language and the way she was eying the seats at the table, she was able to take a good guess. “Oh, uh, did ye wan’ t’ sit? Yer more than welcome t’.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – Leila initially tilted her head to the side in the midst of confusion, attempting to decipher where the foreign accent that laced the girl’s words originated from. However, to prevent herself from staring, she simply smiled and said, “Thank you,” as she situated herself across from the brunette. “I’m Leila. And you are?” ⌟
Lunch. Her least favorite time of the day, especially on the first day of school since it felt like all eyes were on her body. “Hi,” she asked someone, “is anyone sitting here?”

“thanks” holly small smiled, her hands clenching on her head as she felt the pain “no problem” she shrugged “nice to meet you leila, i’m holly and don’t worry, i doubt it can get any worse” the brunette admitted dragging her words.
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Nice to meet you too, Holly.” Leila smiled, furrowing her brow as she thought about a potential resolution to her headache -- though, it appeared there was little she could do. “Hm... I can run by the nurse’s office and see if I can get you some Tylenol or Aspirin?” She would know, of course, since hunger headaches were a normalcy for her. ⌟

Seeing that Leila was a bit uncomfortable with the attention, Abner joked around with the guys a bit, deflecting attention from her and epicly roasting anybody who dared even look at her. Abner himself threw Leila an apologetic glance.
⌜ ❀。.:*: – Leila was flattered by his, from what she presumed in the distant bleachers, attempt to redirect their attention from her. She silently thanked him with a genuine smile and small yet cheerful clapping as they proceeded through their practice game. She was pleased to see that, hopefully, she had made at the very least a friendly acquaintance. Abner was nice, after all. ⌟

Kim flushed. “Er, I’ve never met my birth parents,” she admitted quietly. “I know my mom went here but that’s about it. My foster mom is an accountant.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Oh.” Leila mumbled, nibbling on her lower lip as her eyes anxiously darted towards the ground. Goodness Leila, why must you succumb to your nosiness and seek answers that are none of your business? Strike One. “Well... an accountant is neat, if that you’re into numbers! I actually don’t mind math.” Especially given her obsessive tracking of her caloric intake. “What grade are you?” ⌟

Abner headed back to his practice, still flushed red, and offered a hesitant wave back as he rejoined the others. They greeted him, clapping on the back, and pointed questioningly towards Leila. He satisfied their questions and returned to work, but his mind kept drifting back to his new friend.
⌜ ❀。.:*: – When Leila glanced up from her cell phone and witnessed inquisitive finger points in her direction, anxiety started to set in -- specifically, if they were asking about her appearance. Was she looking fat today? Was she looking ugly? Oh no. She hid it with a small smile as she watched them practice, with her eyes paying close attention to Abner. ⌟

“No, I wish,” Kim smiled slightly. “I’m not that creative. I meant like Blair. It’s so cool that your mother is a fashion designer, though… really. That must be an awesome career for a Mom to have.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – Leila nodded, understanding what she meant; however, not without a doubtful tilt of the head and gaze. “Oh please, I’m sure you’re creative! Just in another way. ♪” She pondered on the notion that her mother’s job was awesome when in reality, it was torturous. “Hm. What about your parents, if you don’t mind me asking? What do they do?” ⌟

“No, not at all,” Abner shrugged. “Lot’s of the guys girlfriends watch-” His face reddened. “Er, not that I’m saying, well… I mean, they’ll be used to it, and they’ll assume you know somebody there. It’s not a big deal.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – Leila giggled charmingly towards the comment, especially when she noticed his cheeks gaining a rosy hue. “In that case, I’ll just be in the bleachers? Watch your aim improve. ♪” She playfully said, remembering him talking how it was slightly off. “Good luck!” Flashing one last smile, she turned away from him and strode to the bleachers where she sat climbed towards the top corner. From there, she offered him a small wave. ⌟

“Nice to meet you, Leila,” Kim smiled, connecting what Leila was saying to the pad of paper she was holding. “Wait, do you design too?”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – “Yeah! Well, I guess you can say that,” Leila sheepishly giggled, hoping not to be boastful or too proud of the mediocrity behind her designs. “My mother is a fashion designer, so she was sort of my inspiration for getting involved. Are you saying you’re a designer too?~” ⌟

“Uhm, I mean I should be getting back to practice,” Abner realized, perhaps a bit belatedly, but he didn’t want to hurt Leila’s feelings. He liked her. “But you don;t need to shut up. You’re, uh, really cool.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – “Aw, thanks. ♪” Leila gratuitously accepted the compliment, though she momentarily paused to register that it was genuine without a piece of criticism followed it. She had adjusted to that lifestyle, given her exposure to the public in Canada. “You’re pretty cool too. Would it be weird if I watched you guys play? I don’t really have much else to do, but I totally get if that’s strange--” She bit her tongue, not wishing to continue onward to imminent humiliation. ⌟

holly managed to shoot a smile at the other “oh, thanks, they are louboutin” the brunette explained looking down at them for a second before shifting her eyes back at the other. “you can borrow them some time if you want”

Good taste. ♪” Leila nodded, adjusting her enamored gaze from the shoes to the brunette herself -- partially surprised by her change in demeanor from their initial encounter. “Really? That’s super sweet of you. Oh!-- I’m Leila, by the way. I hope I’m not making your headache worse, aha!” ⌟

“Yeah, she moved away but she used to be a big member of the fashion club,” Kim explained. “I modeled for Blair quite a bit, and she made this for me as a thank you.” She smiled at Leila’s other comment. “Oh…. thanks.” Despite herself, Kim was warming up to this girl.
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Was she? I can’t, for the life of me, remember a Blair -- but I’m also fairly new. I would have loved to spark ideas with her. ♪” Leila chimed, lightly sighing at her own sketch that was admittedly not as pretty as the clothing worn by the girl before her. Then again, was she surprised? “No problem. Oh!-- I’m Leila, by the way.” ⌟

“Yeah, they’re a good group,” Abner smiled a little. “We have a ways to go, but we’re working at it. We’re grinding and sacrificing, and that’s what it’s all bout.” He hesitated, and after a moment asked: “Do you play? A sport, I mean?” Abner felt a connection to Leila, and he wanted to place it.
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "That’s the spirit, yeah?” Leila reflected the small smirk arising across his features, redirecting her gaze towards the other boys scattered across the field. “I hope I’m not distracting you or getting you in trouble! Sometimes I just talk and need to be shut up once in awhile. ♪” The habit derived from practice at mealtimes so that her lack of eating remained unnoticed. “No, not really. I’ve cheerleaded and danced, but that’s about it! I like watching rather than playing, ahah.” ⌟

Ever since the incident last year, Kim had been moving from class to class, room to room, as quickly as possible, not wanting to stop and risk connecting with other people, not wanting to risk seeing her own guilt reflected in their eyes. But this time her walk was interrupted by a kind comment from an unfamiliar girl.
“Oh!” Kim looked up, smiling slightly despite herself. “Oh, well… thanks. A student last year designed it for me.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Oh really?” Leila tilted her head to the side, wondering who all she knew from the fashion club that possibly created it for her. To say, that is, they were even affiliated with the club. Silly thought, she spoke to herself. “They have good taste. ♪ And so do you, from what I can tell!” The brunette commended her for the remainder of the outfit, offsetting the potentially awkward silence between them with a small giggle. ⌟

“Everyone slips up sometimes,” Abner attempted to salvage the situation, throwing Leila a hesitant smile. That statement was more true for him than she could realize. “Anyway, yeah, my aim is more than a little off. That’s why I have practice, I guess.”
⌜ ❀。.:*: – "Very true,” Leila affirmatively nodded, hoping that her light and humorous comment was not misinterpreted by him. The last thing she wished to do was offend him in the slightest. “Just as I did with trying to kick the ball straight to you. ♪” She attempted to absolve her previous comment, running her fingers through her hair sheepishly as she waited for what he had to say next. “Practice makes perfect!” If only she followed her own advice. “Besides, it shows a lot about you that you’re practicing for it -- like your teammates,” her eyes flickered to the other gentlemen behind him. ⌟
