Blurb: Off Season, n.
a time of year when a particular activity, typically a sport, is not engaged in.
When the overly enthusiastic Parker and anxious Derrick are tasked with sharing a room at a summer hockey camp, a lifetime of events is set in motion. Follow the boys as they weave in and out of each other's lives in chapters with alternating perspectives that take the boys off the ice and into the off-season each summer after the hockey season is finished.
Info: This book is written in two perspectives through the writing of two authors, myself & my co-author. It began as a roleplay more than three years ago before getting re-done into a book. Our word count for the rp was sitting just over 1mil so you'll find that our manuscript is a much more reasonable number and reads very different. No hockey knowledge is required to read.
Feedback: We'd love to know if the characterization is consistent, if the couple is one whose story you would like to follow, if the book is more telling than showing, if anything is confusing, & (if you're a hockey fan), if all the hockey details make sense.
Excerpt: We would be happy to let you read an excerpt first before committing (a chapter from both of us most likely) as I know the blurb is nothing to write home about. lol If you do not want to finish (either after reading the excerpt or taking on the manuscript), we will understand. Please just let us know! c:
Timeline: We'd love your feedback as soon as possible but would be open to a 6-8 week deadline as long as you keep us in the loop.
Critique Swap?: Yes! Myself and my co-author might both be open to some critique swaps. However, neither of us will be available to start for two weeks (she has a vacation, I have surgery) but we'd love to chat! I'm pretty open but I don't tend to enjoy YA, Horror, or anything with an abundance of zombies. I'll have to discuss with her what she might be interested in.
