Proofread 5k words of a Top Secret children's story. It's the first in a set of 3, and revolves around a dragon who doesn't know his name.
To have 1+ miniature humans between the ages of 0 - 7 years, or to have a miniature human who was previously that age.
To comment on the story with your honest thoughts & reactions based on your experience with miniature humans - either your own or those you've been responsible for.
If possible, to include some notes about how your miniature human reacted to the story or how they would have reacted if they were still in that age group.

There are themes of self-identification, nontraditional family dynamics, queer parenting and adoption throughout this story. The author is lgbtq+, and this story is the first in a series of 3 which address elements of queer life, broken down for children and parents of all backgrounds to empathise with.
This one deals with choosing your own identity and your own community - even if it's not the name you're given and even if it's not the community who society says you're supposed to fit in with.
The target audience is queer children and queer / lgbtqia+ families, and aims to start or aid casual conversations about figuring out where we belong and where we feel free to be our most authentic selves. If it helps lgbt+ children express themselves, or helps parents explain a loved-one's transition or coming out, then that's incredible.
It is not required that the proofreaders be in a family with lgbtqia+ members, since this book is for everyone - but it is a consistent theme throughout, so proofreaders should be aware of that.
The deadline: 17th November 2022
All comments and notes should be completed by 6pm on November 27th, 2022 (EST).
All proofreaders will be given first dibs on the finished book when it's published. There will be art throughout it depicting the characters and pivotal scenes.
THIS ART WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE PROOFREADING DRAFT.
The art is staying 100% under wraps until the final book is published. It will be up for purchasing via Amazon in time for Christmas, so would be a great gift or stocking filler!!!
