“It’s October again, leaves are coming down. One more year’s come and gone & nothing’s changed at all,” Willow had been wanting to learn how to play guitar for years, and after weeks of saving her money and looking for one on Craigslist, she bought one and happily began teaching herself chords. One thing she didn’t want was anyone hearing her, she wasn’t a singer, but she couldn’t just hum while she played. That was why she was sitting in the dewy grass behind the Science building, singing softly as she picked out some chords. “Wasn’t I supposed to be someone that could face the things that I’ve been running from?“
Leila was an expert at finding the areas of the school not many people knew about and hiding at them. She was trying to be around people more, and not hide out by herself, but it wasn’t always easy. Instead of dealing with her homework right now, she decided it would be easier to be by herself. So, when she heard the soft sound of acoustic guitar, she frowned. Someone else also hung out here sometimes. Maybe she’d have better luck with a rooftop? But then she recognized the song, and that the girl playing and singing was the one who gave her, her new kitten. So, the singer joined in on the song. “Let me feel. I don’t care if I break down. Let me feel even if I hit the ground. If I cry a little and die a little, at least I know I lived.”
