I want to talk about the theory that Mo Lang is Seven's father. About Lang's appearance in the series and why it can play an important role in the plot.
Everyone who watches donghua and reads manhwa knows about the theory that Mo Lang is Seven's father.
The manhwa hinted at their connection both in terms of appearance and in terms of various hints and comparisons. Which we will discuss.
But first, I want to analyze the moment from episode 3 of season 5, in which, as we all know, the long-awaited appearance of Mo Lang took place.
What questions come to mind when he suddenly appeared?
What is he doing here? Why is he here? Why did they decide to show such an important character in this season?
What role will his appearance play? And will he appear again?
After all, it was probably not done just like that, it was not just like that that they showed us the key character of the prequel, he will appear again, and he will probably be an important figure.
Let's start with the fact that he took away the powers of Redtooth, a character that also played an important role, as well as his powers and their absence, which was emphasized in the same episode. Also in the manhwa, the power of the blood demon plays an important role. This may mean that this moment is quite significant both for the plot of the manhwa and for the series.
But the questions remain: what is he doing here and why?
Because of Redtooth's powers? I don't think that was his original reason for being on Chicken Island. Because it's impossible for certain reasons.
Why did he decide to look for Redtooth on Chicken Island? Yes, he might have heard rumors that a certain barber killed Redtooth on Chicken Island.
But would he have looked for him in principle then? After all, Redtooth, based on those news, was considered dead, and until the battle between Redtooth and the White Fox, no one knew that he was alive, especially since not much time had passed between Redtooth's healing and the battle on the island, which means that Mo Lang could not have known that Redtooth was alive and that he had returned to the island, so there was no point in visiting Chicken Island.
And anyway, if Lang wanted to take Redtooth's powers so badly, then he would have been trying to take his powers for a long time, which clearly wasn't the case, judging by Ah Quan reaction.
All this suggests that Mo Lang clearly did not come to the island because of him, the fact that he took his powers was just a side issue, but not the original reason for his appearance. Then why did he end up there? I think the answer is obvious. He ended up there because of the one White Fox came for. Because of Seven. Mo Lang could have been looking for Seven.
He, like White Fox, could have come to Chicken Island to find out where Seven was and how to contact him (but, unlike White Fox, he may have had good intentions), but he most likely ended up there at the wrong time, when the island was in disarray and all the inhabitants were hidden in their houses so that it was impossible to find out anything from anyone. And when he noticed the battle between Red Tooth and White Fox and that Ah Quan had lost his powers, he decided not to waste time and take back the power that once belonged to him so that no one else could use it.
And it may be that after Ah Quan weakened and was left on Chicken Island, he may have run into Mo Lang, who may tell him about his sad experience with this power.
I think it was not for nothing that we were shown Lang in this season. After all, this season we are promised to be shown a significant event for the series - the return of Seven's memories.
As I said before, there are enough hints that Seven is Lang's son to think so. They look alike, they can both act like funny idiots, they both have similar weapons. Also, because Bai Qi, one of the main characters of the manhwa, is officially the father of Prince Stan, it is logical to assume that Mo Lang, the same main character of the manhwa, will be the father of the main character of the series, because appearance already says a lot, and it was strange that Prince Stan (who, although he plays a key role in the series, still does not appear that often) turned out to be the son of the main character of the manhwa, and Seven, the main character, about whose past we know nothing, will turn out to be the son of characters unknown to us, despite the fact that there is a character who has similarities with Seven (and not only with Mo Lang, but about Seven's supposed mother - Yan Yan, we will talk about it some other time).
Also, judging by what we saw in the first episode of the new season, when Seven opened the door and he from the past was standing there, he was in some place that resembled the place where the bloody demon was kept, and there was a similar place in the manhwa, at the end of the second book, when Tindi Loach (one of the main villains of the manhwa) was returned, also, if you remember the trailers for season 5, then this place also flashed there, and what conclusion can be drawn from this, that Seven was probably familiar with all this and, most likely, thanks to his dad.
Agree, the fact that Mo Lang is his father is very obvious, it seems to me that the creators are deliberately throwing in some hints to tease the viewers (and readers), to stretch this intrigue as long as possible, so that it could become an important and significant moment in the plot.
But when should this happen? I dare to assume that this will become an important moment in the return of Seven's memories. After all, as we were told in the second episode of the fifth season, memories will return to Seven due to the fact that he must meet people from his past. And now just imagine what will happen when Seven, for some reason, has to return to Chicken Island, and then his father appears, who was probably very important to Seven, who could have played an important role in his past life, and then Seven will achieve what he has been trying to achieve for so long.
But we will find out everything at the end of the fifth season.
