they are the older sibling of nightbird whisperer! adopted one at that, but still siblings. they're solar opposites in what they're experienced at. (as far as I know, zoology and geology do not intertwine that much) but both have a shared interest of the prehistoric and dinosaurs
their favorite color is blue (hard to guess, right? /j)
has a huge hoard of rocks and crystals back at home of all sizes. all types. and likes to make necklaces with crystal pendants hanged to them (if you have noticed in moments guide workshop inside of the aviary, there is some, probably gifted as a thank you once the vacation ended)
they do cave diving and caving as a hobby. they enjoy the experience, and what curiosities they find there are very interesting from a rock-researcher standpoint. which is why they also have that gem embedded in their headgear (which acts like a miners hat). it produces light in the dark.
may have a crush on someone, definitely not the monk oooooaaoo
their most beloved rock is their pet rock. rocky the third. don't ask what happened to the first and second.

I see geologist as in their early, to mid twenties, having freshly graduated out of college (vault school?!). they amazingly provided for their little sister throughout many years. other's assume they're naive because of their quirks, but they are quite nerdy and smart :]

After several years, I've decided to reopen commissions in order to help fund my family with our day to day activities. This includes paying bills, supplies for our dayjob, emergency funds, and whatnot.
moments guide, they works as a tour guide and is a casual vacationer (liking to take their loved ones with them)
they met ranger through their hobbies, in their 20-30s when they were alive. they both specialised in different things, their skills connected making them a duo and making them perfectly fit for eachother.
at first, them and ranger were like colleagues. but they went on many expeditions and explorations together. any type of place you can think of. through forests, mountains, snowstorms, deserts, swamps, vault cities (in my AU, vault is more advanced and not just a memory realm). moments, mostly to indulge in their passion for photography, and ranger because he liked being around moments.
they carry a kit with matches specifically for lighting fires. leaning their head on rangers shoulder around a campfire at night is one of their favourite things, but they still don't know how to set it aflame.. oops..

moments, like most elderly, treasure older objects. even though they have the option to use the newer improved fancy white camera they use their old one (default), it brings a sense of familiarity.
the windows and lights in their home are perfectly aligned for it to look picture-worthy at any angle
oh, one more thing. despite their dreams they never became a famous photographer. they wanted to stretch it to a career, but it ended up as a hobby. this was really difficult to accept at first, suffering a midlife crisis, yet they pushed through. and while they wished it could have been different, they're very happy with their present life too. and, if not in the hearts of the civilians at that time, moments guide is famous in the skykids hearts.

yes that is daydream forester on the top right. I headcanon she often comes to the Prairie Peaks for the beautiful flowers. there's all sorts of things nature has to offer there, and she had already seen everything from forest where she resides with her friend, chuckle. she takes interest in botany, but not as much as botanist. she likes them most cause they're pretty
on the contrary, Nightbird is an aspiring zoologist, on the branch of ornithology (obviously, study of birds), and wishes to explore as many places as possible. carrying a notebook with her at all times. (the pockets at the side of her shorts, she stores her small portable belongings there)
she achieved the discovery of a new species at a young age, that which is the crested nightbird we see in game. for a while, everyone believed it had went extinct, but it was only endangered. the rest of its population had travelled to the stalagmite cave where she was surprised to rediscover them. btw they feed on plant sap, pollen and prefer to drink dew after rain.
Nightbird whisperer wanted her ponytails to represent wings.. but that was too complex. and they had no hair stylist nearby. so she relied on her adoptive older sibling (geologist) to do her ponytails. that's why they're messed up and lopsided.
she has two favorite colors! (very hard to guess /j) and her shoes are a size or two too big for her. the most clumsy unserious whisperer of all but definitely the most adorable
I'll try to do individual art posts... dumping them all at once after months may be overwhelming. but I am so impatient and excited to share. I'll see how that style of posting works for me on Tumblr. I did it at first because I had too many. thank you
