If you’re gonna make a childrens cartoon episode about trans people or trans issues your first fucking thought should be “how will a kid who is trans feel watching this episode?” and if its anything less than stunningly goddamned positive start over

Seriously though, if your main characters are “confused” about them? Start over. If mocking them is shown to be normal, condoned behavior? Start over. If trying to be happy has them turn into a monster? Start over. Kids already get flooded with enough of the world telling them they’re fucked up. Handling the issue with “nuance” or however the fuck you justify it won’t help trans kids, and it won’t help cis kids learning about trans kids either.

Oh and while I’m at it? Don’t make it a fucking metaphor. Just have a trans person in your damn show. A four year old does not understand metaphors. Just have a fucking trans person in your show so children will recognize it instead of having to jump through hoops.
