I have never posted any of my fics here, and much of the fandom has moved on, but here’s a little something I wrote for Christmas this year in case anyone is in the mood for a festive read.

I’ve always wished that John and his mother had had a scene together. This is my attempt to give them one.

So I’ve decided that the season 3 finale is one of my favorite episodes for the Bates’. Their little talk with Rose when Bates gives her the mint. Rose teaching Anna the dance for the ball. Bates’ smile when Anna surprises him with dance and how proud he is of her and how purely happy she is. AND one of my favorite scenes of them ever…that gosh darn picnic!!!! So wholesome. So pure.

Except now I’m back to season four and we all know what’s about to happen :/ :/ :/ it’s back to suffering ladies
