Yes, hi. I'm human (though you can still block me if you want, of course. Just confirming I'm not an AI). After years of keeping a mental list of all the tumblrs I follow and checking them religiously, I finally made an account because age and memory.

I'll probably cave and start posting (reblogging?) eventually, here and in my current on hiatus wordpress place. But, for now, proof that I'm (mostly) human! :D

Things I have learned.

It's too easy to hit the reblog button, and it's FUN, that's all tumblr really is for and I am completely okay with that, and I am also no longer an empty blog (yay!). But I do like my intro, so I will pin this and edit it for things later.

Actually, one last thing. Westerners, especially Americans, regardless of race or color are genuinely so convinced that Christianity and Catholicism is a white and western thing, that they keep forgetting it originated in Palestine, from the semitic peoples. From west asia. If you truly believe it's a white only thing, then you should also realize they've appropriated it and try and see how that's unconsciously privileged you. Or you could see that even if the usa is still the biggest sender of missionaries, South Korea, Brazil, China, India, and the Philippines follow after that. And the thing is, people from other countries have come to believe Christianity is a white thing or a western thing to the point that they ban it because of antiwestern sentiments. Or because of their own religious extremisms. And the fact that social media is so anglo-led doesn't help discussions at all

I think that people sometimes forget that orientalism isn't just misrepresenting southeast/southwest/west asian (and north african) music and calling chinese and korean and indian women exotic or misappropriating Asian cukture as a whole but also using the word "Asian" when really you just mean "East Asian" by which you usually mean "china, south korea, and japan"

Being into popular ships from popular media is weak. Barely hits. To get a real high try pacing your bedroom like a caged animal at 6am obsessively thinking about an insanely niche pairing from an insanely niche piece of media, performing an imaginary ted talk to an audience of zero.

My controversial opinion is that I do think it's fine if your biggest dream is to be married, have kids, and be as involved in their lives as possible (or even be a stay at home mom...but I also beg of women that, even if they want that, please get a degree. Please have some form of career you can fall back into. We don't live in a dreamy world. Something might happen. To your husband. To your situation. To your kids, even. To your country. I could go on. And the same is true for anyone with big dreams. Keep dreaming big and fight for a world where those dreams can be true but do not sacrifice your future to ideals that the world hasn't yet realized.

Thinking about lil guys who were trained from birth to be heartless and cold-blooded killers by evil organizations, enhanced to as peak human level as anyone could with some help from medical technology, told that they were not meant for love or family, then finding a friend within that organization anyway, then people outside that organization who recognized them as family and made them yearn so much to experience the fullness of human life and love that they were medically and psychologically denied and being able to properly grieve that while recognizing that the friends they made are their family (and they call that guy family!). They're still lethal, they still use the talents that were hardwired into them to move the plot, but their killing skills no longer define them, only give them an incredibly cool aura that is supported by the power of love and friendship.

Anyway, that's what I feel about the little I know and have heard of Natasha Romanoff and I will never forgive the writers of All (ALL) of the MCU movies she's been in for peppering in their own misogyny into her arcs.

Been seeing some Fruits Basket discourse and, look. I can acknowledge readily that it has its problematic elements. But at the same time, you can't deny its genuis for having the main couple be a duo of incredibly traumatized green flags (and momiji!) (which is to say they learn from their mistakes) surrounded by a whole bunch of red flags and Yuki. Author really said the "Qifery's curse on steroids" manga can have so many characters who are problematic and broken and all around horrible people but still deserve to be loved. And she was right
