sorry I’ve been so inactive for so long but I’m back and will hopefully have some cool hauls coming up!

I ended up taking a bit a break from major lifting, mostly for my own well being and mental health, but I feel like it’s time to pick it back up again (aka I’m super broke rn)

I moved to a new city far away from my home and it feels like I can have a clean slate and not have to worry about how sloppy I sometimes was in the past!

I’m am pretty busy rn tho so it may be a while before I get around to answering questions :(

ok so i’m a bit of a baby lifter

like i’ve been doing it since january and it’s all really amateur — like layering in dressing room, sleeving things at sephora, bringing a tote to lush.

Layering in dressing rooms and sleeving stuff is all really great methods, especially for a baby lifter! Honestly it sounds like you are doing better than I was when I first started lifting! I used to be so scared and excited to lift a single lip balm from Walmart and was terrified of stores like Sephora and Ulta! We all start somewhere and by slowly becoming more comfortable and learning and practicing new techniques you can build up to larger and larger hauls. The hauls you see on my account are from years and years of experience and practice and are something you can slowly work towards but not something you should aim for right off the bat. I really recommend spending a lot of time here on Tumblr as there is so much useful information you can find within the lifting community and try practicing different techniques at home so you can feel more comfortable applying them in a store. 🧬 for Shèíñ! What should my limit be? and how recently did u do them? I’m think around $150?

I’ve done them a total of 4 times, the highest amount being $450 which was back in September so I think below $500 would be fine, especially if it is an aged account. I used two different accounts with different addresses (I live at two different houses) and did 2 dnas for each one. The first account I had a few orders a previously and my first dna was only about $200 so I got an instant refund, but all the others had “investigations” so I had to wait a few days and just insisted I didn’t get it the package so I was refunded every time :)

tips for blindspots from a bb lifter??

An important thing to remember when searching for a blind spot is to not look directly at the cameras! I know your instinct is gonna be to tilt your head up and scan the ceiling to make sure you didn’t miss any but it is extremely obvious lp know exactly what you are doing when you do this. You need to make sure you are only moving your eyes when you glance up at the ceiling and to keep your head in the same position it was before. This is also best to do as you stroll by so you’re not just stopping to look at the ceiling!

Also hidden cameras are a thing, although not extremely common. If a blind spot seems too good to be true, for example no cameras in an isle with electronics and video games, then it likely is. Sometimes stores place hidden cameras to trick people into concealing directly on camera, while believing they are in a blind spot. These cameras can be very difficult and near impossible to spot, but are not extremely common so I would just be very weary of blind spots that seem too good to be true or are in a high theft area of the store.

My favorite blind spot method when looking to conceal small items is making my own blind spots using angles and slight of hand. The idea is that you can angle your body in certain ways in front of the camera where it is not clear what you are doing. For example squatting down to look at the bottom shelf while you are angled in a way that the camera can not see the side of you that your bag/purse is on while discreetly slipping and item in. If you use slight of hand at the same time you can conceal small items without the camera picking up on it. One slight of hand method is the “take two, put back one” method. This is where you grab two of the same items, making it look like you are only holding one thing and you discreetly conceal one and then put the other on back on the shelf. If you pull it off right, from the camera’s perspective it looks like you picked one item up and then changed your mind about it and put it back. You can also use other people to block the view of cameras but I do not recommend this method for beginners.

My last tip is sometimes when you Google your specific store location that you plan on going to it will show review photos that sometimes show the layout of the store and if your lucky it will show the ceiling so you can look and see where the cameras are. If you can find photos like this you will have an idea where the cameras are and possibly be able to scout blind spots before you even go into the store!

I made a little diagram about something that I think is very important but have never seen discussed, which is how to properly leave a store

I find this is extremely important when you know you are going to beep, think you might beep, or have a feeling they are onto you. If you were never even seen leaving there is no way for them to stop you. I find this works best in mall stores which tend to have the big open exits with displays near them but the concept can be applied to any store.

Got about $1,500 of jewelry making supplies to start a business!

I plan on opening an etsy shop soon for handmade beaded jewelry so I went to Michaels, Joanns, and Hobby lobby and got about $500 of beads from each. (Why is a single string of beads like $10 😭)

I’ve always wanted to try at V$, but what bra do i wear for it?

It depends on how you wanna conceal!

I personally conceal almost everything from there in a shopping bag, however if you don’t plan on lifting tons then concealing on body is definitely best! If you’re planning to wear out the bras you lift I think some sort of unpadded sports bra would be best cause you could put it on top of the bras you put on and it could compress them so it hopefully doesn’t seem unnaturally bulky! Beware this method can be highly uncomfortable so I’d try to plan this for the end of your lifting trip if you plan on hitting other stores.

Can you please give me some advice on lifting books? The kinds I want are hardcovers, & I'm really struggling with that.

I can give advice on barns and noble but I don’t know much about other book places. For starters, B&N hard cover book will almost always have an RFID sticker put on a random page and sometimes on the cover of the book so you will need to flip through the book and remove it. My favorite method that I learned here on liftblr (I don’t remember who came up with it) is bringing a backpack with a few of your own book in it. Then you browse and pick out the books that you want and go sit down in the cafe area with them. You then take your books out of your back and get them kinda mixed up with the ones you want to take. While you do this, flip threw the books and remove any RFIDs while pretending to read. You should spend a decent amount of time here as is you were actually studying/reading. When you are ready to leave you can put all of the books in your backpack and leave. Another way is to just bring a structured purse and pick out the book you want, flip through it, and conceal in a blind spot. The children’s section is usually a decent place to conceal because there is rarely cameras there in my experience, but this all depends on the location. Anyways, good luck and stay safe :)

Guys the craziest most scary thing happened to me the other day.

So just a couple days ago I decided to go to urban because I really wanted and instax camera and I had read about people being able to wiggle off the spider wrap. I don’t have a s3 key but I brought my Swiss Army knife to cut the box a little if I was having trouble getting the spider wrap off. Anyways, I conceal the camera and grab a couple of pairs of jeans and go to the fitting rooms. Now this is where it all goes wrong... so I start trying to wiggle off the spider wrap but it won’t come off all the way so I take my knife and try to cut the corners of the box to make it easier and guess what fucking happens?! My hand slips and cuts the fucking spider wrap wire as well as my other hand so now I am beeping and bleeding. My first instinct was to just throw the spider wrap so I tossed it over the top of the fitting room stalls into a stall a couple down from me. I then shove the camera in my bag and get the fuck out of the fitting rooms. Luckily I was wearing a black sweater so I just pulled the sleeve down over my bleeding hand. As I am walking out I see a couple of Sa’s walking into to fitting room area so I nonchalantly ask them what that loud beeping sound was. They told me that someone was probably stealing and I looked over and the fitting room that the spider wrap landed in, and it had a person inside so the sa’s went and knocked on their door. I didn’t see what happened after that because my ass was out of there as quick as possible. I really hope that person didn’t get in any trouble but as long as they didn’t have any concealed merchandise they should be fine I think. I still feel really awful though. I don’t plan on going back there for a really long time even though they probably don’t know who did it because is was busy so there was a lot of people in fitting rooms so anybody could have thrown the spider wrap plus there were no cameras in the whole store. Anyways... that was my really stupid mistake, but my quick thinking and being able to keep my cool probably saved my ass.
