Top 10 features I’d love to see in Animal Crossing Switch!
1. Villager personality revival.
I (sadly) never got to experience the notoriously sassy personalities of the Nintendo 64 version, but I have still noticed a marked difference in the villager personalities from Wild World to New Leaf. Though maybe not to every players taste, I find myself often skipping dialogue as it is often repeated and not as interesting.
2. Official path placement tools.
The time it takes to individually place path tiles is a familiar, painstaking process to all who are brave enough to do it. The option of going into a town edit mode (just for paths) would be something I think many players would appreciate, including the inability for tiles to be accidentally picked up when walking.
3. Ability to change appearance (eyes and skin tone) during the game.
I know there are mixed feelings about whether we should be able to customize our character at the start of the game, but I think this could be a good optional feature where (like in Stardew Valley) players can pay a certain amount of Bells to change their appearance.
4. Fully. Functioning. Bicycles.
This was just a random thought the other week, and I am fully aware this is definitely a novelty feature for which I have no real explanation for.
5. Un-editable towns.
Being part of a ACNL discord for trading, I fortunately have never experienced theft in the game. However, I still feel wary leaving visitors alone where my hybrid flowers and other items are so blatantly on display. An option for towns to be editable or not before you open the town gate would be really handy, so items already on the ground before someone visits are locked in place.
6. Villager house placements
I think every player who likes town design knows the frustration of villagers moving (A) right in front of your house, (B) too close to a bridge, or © where you were going to place a public works project. The ability to, in edit mode, choose where villagers are allowed or not allowed to move in is a rightful ability for a mayor, especially one who is town planning!
7. Bring back Note-in-a-bottle!
I don’t know - this was just always a sweet feature!
8. Villagers contribute to public works projects.
‘Hooray for everyone?’ Octavian has a literal UFO in his house and still I only receive 100 bells.
9. Sending letters to players on your Friend List without being in their town.
A very small detail, but I’d love to be able to send my friends surprise gifts without having to suspiciously ask to go to their town.
10. More storage space please!
I think item specific storage spaces would be really useful, such as wardrobes specifically for clothing and toolboxes in your inventory that take up one slot but can be opened to equip any tool. Even purchasable backpacks to increase inventory space would be useful!
I’d love to see everyone else’s suggestions!
