“Sometimes, I feel the past and the future pressing so hard on either side that there’s no room for the present at all.”
— Evelyn Waugh, Brideshead Revisited
“Es tut weh sich von jemandem zu verabschieden den man nicht gehen lassen will. Aber es tut noch mehr weh ihn zu bitten zu bleiben, obwohl man weiß, dass er unbedingt gehen will.”

“Losing you wasn’t just painful, it was fucking damaging also. It wasn’t me sitting down on a couch surrounded by my friends as we watched movies and ate food to try and forget you. It was me staying up at four in the morning because the thought of you was so fucking strong I couldn’t even close my eyes without seeing your face. It was me swallowing thickly and blinking back tears every time I was in public, the hole in my chest causing my breaths to come out shaky rather than normal. It was me laughing at things for no reason as my stomach turned because the urge of falling apart was getting stronger. It was me crying at random hours during the day and me not wanting to get up out of bed. It wasn’t just me staring blankly at your number, deciding whether or not if I should call you. It was me throwing my phone at the wall and breaking it, because I was drunk again and the thought of you ever changing your information terrified me. It was me deleting our conversations and regretting it because now I couldn’t know where we had went wrong. It fucking hurt, losing you had hurt and I wasn’t ever able to forget that kind of pain.”

things that exist but you can’t see:
people thinking about you and smiling
flowers growing in your heart
the moon’s affection for you
how much you’ve healed already
a lovely future written in the stars

women are most attractive when they’re not even thinking abt it. and i don’t mean that in a “girls look better without makeup” way so much as a “i love seeing girls be their natural selves where they forget the pressure of perfection placed on women” way.
i love the goofing off double chins and the too-loud near-obnoxious laughter, the gruff and scratchy voice in the morning when they’re too tired to bother with sounding soft, and the not brushing their hair bc they can’t be bothered to deal with and what are you going to do about it anyway?
i love the boldness of women who forget that they have been told to be delicate.
More people need to think this way
You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, now in quarantine
You can dance, you can jive, but you can’t go outside
OOOOOOOHHH see that girl, watch that scene, but through your window screen
“Soft hearts make the universe worth living in.”
