Hello, I’d like to share a new Gihun-centric fic I’m working on, titled
“The Flower That Blossomed Among the Thorns.”
<<The rules are not written down. They do not need to be.
They are present in everything, in the particular warmth of a morning greeting and the precise degree of a nod and the careful way certain subjects are navigated in drawing room conversation, around and around without ever quite landing on the thing itself, the way you navigate around furniture in a dark room, knowing it is there, knowing its shape, finding your way by what you do not touch.
An alpha child in a family means the title passes cleanly to the next generation, means the house and the land and the position continue as they always have, means the future is not a question at all but simply a continuation of the present, which is the most comfortable thing in the world.
A beta child means some arrangement, some careful work with solicitors, some negotiation, but it can be done, it has been done, families have managed it with their dignity intact and their position more or less preserved. An omega child means something nobody says at dinner, something that gets prayed against with a sincerity that has very little to do with faith and everything to do with the cold particular fear of watching everything your family has built dissolve because of something that nobody chose and nobody can change
An omega child means the title dies. The estate reverts. The house that has been in the family for generations belongs to the family no longer, and the family must reconfigure itself around that absence with whatever grace it can manage, under the eyes of a ton that is sympathetic in the way that spectators are sympathetic, which is to say entirely, and at a comfortable distance.
Nobody on Ihwa-dong made the world this way. Nobody on Ihwa-dong is going to unmake it.
And on the whole they are comfortable enough with this, because the world has been good to most of them, and comfort has never made philosophers of many people.
It is into this world, on a Tuesday morning in early spring when the garden at the third house from the left is just beginning to consider the possibility of colour, that Seong Gihun arrives, and the world, not yet knowing what it has on its hands, goes cheerfully about its business. >>
It’s a Regency AU with ABO dynamics, and it follows Gihun as he navigates society as an Omega.
If you had read it and enjoyed the first part of the story and want to see what happens next, please consider supporting me on Ko-fi.
I’ll be using a chapter funding model, where each chapter has a collective funding goal. You can contribute whatever you’re able, and once the goal is reached, the next chapter will be released for everyone to read, regardless of how much each person contributed. After a chapter goes up, a new goal opens for the next one, and so on.

This fanfic will also feature Sangwoo/Gihun, Inho/Gihun, and Junho/Gihun. The endgame pairing will be decided by a vote among Tier 2 and Tier 3 supporters on my Ko-fi, so please consider subscribing if you’re able to.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting. I really appreciate it.
