The face of a man who thinks he's not only alone again, but that he's gotten his only best friend killed, too.

Hi, the other day I was looking at fics on AO3. I was specifically looking for an x reader fic, and then I stumbled upon a fic where they tagged their OC as "x reader." What should I do? Do I report it? What would you do if you were in my situation?
I don’t read or write anything with oc or reader insert, but I know people often tag oc as reader insert, and reader insert as oc. which I suppose can be annoying, sure, but as far as I know, still not something that violates ao3’s terms of service. so if I were you, I would just do nothing. there’s nothing to do. it’s their work, not yours.
according to ao3 — unless it’s clearly mistagging, like using non-con tag for a fluff fic that is entirely sfw and vice versa — tagging is up to each writer’s personal judgment. so if an author thinks reader insert fits their work with oc, or if they want their oc to also be reader insert, then they have every right to tag their works as such.
you have the rights to not read the author’s works if how they tag bothers you. but unless they break ao3’s terms of service (which from what you tell me, I do not think they did), how they tag their work is not your concern or business, even if you disagree with them.

it's so wild to me that you absolutely cannot force a hyperfixation to happen. like you'll watch the most perfectly tailor-made-for-you content that everyone says you'll love and feel absolutely nothing, and then the thing you watch on a whim to fill time will reach through the screen and put its damn fingers in your brain and start rearranging the neurons right in front of you and every single time you're like THIS??? THIS??????? and this happens like every 6-12 months forever
the way that project hail mary is STILL trending when the movie came out two months ago...the people long for platonic soulmatism, practical effects, and ryan gosling in slutty little glasses
reblog this and tell me in the tags, if you could wipe your memory of ONE piece of media (book, film, video game, etc) and experience it again for the first time, what would you choose?
thank you for all the nice words about my last inhun piece, they motivated me to doodle some more <33 uncensored here! ^^
