✦ ➳ There she goes again, acting as if there is concrete evidence that this break-in was premeditated and a true vendetta against her and her family. He doesn’t say another word in that direction however, he doesn’t want to challenge her, it’s just easier to humor her at this point. Just when he thought he was getting somewhere with this woman, she goes and implies that his theories are unlikely. Even so, she needs to double check everything; she should have checked with her sister about the picture before waltzing in here like everyone in the precinct owes her some sort of blood donation.
‘Miss Garcia is fine for me, ’ he notes, ‘ but if you want something less formal I’ll go with Nicole. Sorry for my unwavering professionalism, ma’am. ’ The next thing that slips from her mouth shouldn’t have him baffled, but for a second it does. She is asking for someone to linger near the apartment all night and babysit, but truly she’s demanding it. Swiftly, he’s handing her back the picture frame, once again crossing his arms over his broad chest. ‘ Go ahead and give that frame over to the officer next to the front desk to bag, ’ he motions near the exit, ‘ we’ll check it for prints, even though I doubt it has any, because your night stalker probably wore gloves. ’ And if he didn’t, he’s a fucking idiot. He wants to say this, but he keeps that little comment to himself – night stalker already fell from his lips and he needs to keep his cool.
‘I’ll be the one outside tonight, ’ he announces, ‘ I’ll give you an update tomorrow afternoon about anything we’ve uncovered. ’ Loki makes to head to the offices, turning his back on the feisty young woman. ‘ Also, if you think of something else you need or if you find another clue, please call and leave a message with the front desk, ’ the detective gives her a small nod before disappearing into the back of the precinct.
SHE OBLIGES AND TAKES THE PRISTINE PICTURE FRAME AND HANDS IT TO THE GENTLEMAN BEHIND THE STATION’S DESK. the officer stands up and gives a soft glance of his eyes at the object then tries his hardest to smile at her. she can’t blame him, to be honest. she was brutal minutes prior to this instance when trying to get her point across. unfortunately, he was the first person she had encountered as she stepped through the glass doors of the station. her eyes roll as his comment settles in the dry air. why does he have to be this way ? she’s a concerned citizen of the city and he’s here cracking jokes and making light of what happened. one moment he makes her feel like he cares and he is willing to go the extra mile so she can feel safe as the guardian of her younger sister. then he goes and makes obscene comments such as that.
‘ GREAT. ’ she didn’t mean for her tone of annoyance to make its way into existence but it occurred. ‘ is he always such a DICK ? ’ making sure her voice is heard from where he’s made his exit. turning on her heel, she’s shaking her head in response to how this all went down. nothing was remotely accomplished and she’s left even more in a rage. at least she’ll have a babysitter like he probably feels is going to be his job tonight.
