I like redrawing Tears of Themis cards with Wizardess Heart characters.
I wanted to play around with different hairstyles and clothes for different seasons. I tried to give them a mix of Luke and Rosa's outfit from the card.
I like to imagine Felix and Lacan going on their own adventures on days that Rem's busy. This day they go to the harbor and try ice cream for the first time!

Endgame Tales of Symphonia Spoilers under the cut! And theorizing about Ren's identity!
Now, this one is based off a theory that Ren is the young man we see with Cromwell. Like Mithos once was, Ren is talented and idealistic. Just as Mithos infiltrates Lloyd's friend group, Ren is a latecomer who may be working from within Luke's organization. I'm not sure if the two Mithos would be the same character in this AU; I also like the idea of Yggdrasill's secret weapon being his son and heir.
I added his belt, collar, and silver arrows from his uniform. Since he's a relatively new character, I kept his outfit black. Mithos's rainbow wings were too cool not to keep!
I chose the Hoyo Castle to represent Welgaia, Mithos's base. I wanted something church-like, and the red carpet trailing behind him gave a sinister touch.
Next up is Davis as Tabatha, the android who becomes Martel's vessel. The silhouette of Austin stands behind him.
The idea for using Davis as Tabatha came from my dear friend @zigackly!
As an AI run by Pax, Davis has a natural tie to the Von Hagens.
I kept Davis's collar and his golden cufflinks.
Coloring this was a fun exercise. Like Luke, he's lit from behind, as if the light is coming from Austin. His skin was done with colored pencil. His hair and clothes were with a combination of marker and pencil. I forget exactly, but I think it was pencil on top of marker, with the more electric blue parts purely marker. I accented with electric blue to highlight his robotic nature.
For the background, I chose ruins to represent the ruins of the Tower of Salvation, where the new world tree is born. Davis cradles the new tree in his palms.
The role of Yuan, Martel's fiance, is split between Marius's mother, Carenina, and Giann Von Hagen. Carenina takes the ancient war hero aspect; Giann the present day, leader of the Renegades aspect. However, since Carenina doesn't have a sprite, I only drew Giann in Yuan's outfit.
I incorporated the clouds from Giann's jacket, his belt, and golden pins. I tried to keep his hair to a similar style while making it longer. Since the Von Hagens are associated with purple, I used it for the darker parts of his outfit. I kept Yuan's pink wings so they wouldn't blend into his hair.
For the background, the NXX base stands in for the Renegade base.
Now, we come to my two favorites, Austin Von Hagen as the Goddess Martel and the Red Suit Man as the leader of Cruxis, Mithos Yggdrasill.
Tales of Symphonia Spoilers under the cut!
And spoilers about the Red Suit man's identity too.
Now would be a good time to explain the 4 Seraphim. They're the heroes of the ancient war. After Martel's death, Mithos Yggdrasill founded the organization Cruxis and the Chosen system to revive her. The other two, Kratos Aurion and Yuan Kafai, work to stop him.
Christopher Cromwell, as the main villain, takes the role of Yggdrasill. Although in canon, I theorize that Cromwell may be trying to bring back Marius's mother, I chose Austin Von Hagen as Martel because both vessels of Martel in this AU are men.
Mithos has two forms; his villainous appearance and his true form, which he uses to befriend the heroes. Hence, I'm using two different characters to represent him.
Realizing the similarities between Cromwell and Yggdrasill was one of the main inspirations for this AU. Even the structures of their organizations is similar. Just as Cruxis is the power behind the Desians, Crimson is the power behind Gladiolus Valley. Both villains are obsessed with bringing someone back. The translation adds a delicious layer to these two. Not only are Crimson and Cruxis similar names, Cruxis comes from the Latin for Cross. Fitting, with a leader named Christopher.
I incorporated Cromwell's cane and handkerchief. The blue gems become his Cruxis Crystal. I debated making his suit white (since Colette and Yggdrasill have similar outfits), but I kept his suit red so it would be easier to recognize as Cromwell.
For Austin, I incorporated a lot of details from his suit. The bird patterns, the white flower, the dragonfly, and the dragon symbol.
When coloring both, I focused on contrasting them. Austin's skintone was done with colored pencils, Cromwell's with markers. Cromwell's suit is markers on top of pencil, and Austin's is the other way around. The rest is a blend of both.
For the background, I chose one that was half-forest, half-meadow (albeit flipped). For a bonus, both have splashes of the other's sides colors.
Rosa plays the role of Lloyd Irving, the hero, and Neil Hume as the mysterious mercenary, Kratos Aurion.
Lloyd is the main character and Colette's childhood friend. Since Luke is Colette, Rosa is Lloyd. They both wield a strong sense of justice and refuse to give up on their friends.
I added Rosa's ribbon and her gold buttons. I gave her a skirt (over pants) because skirts are more fun. I used her courtroom hairstyle, since I couldn't get her normal style to work. Rosa's colors are already so similar to Lloyd's, I didn't have much to change.
There's more than meets the eye to Kratos. He turns out to be one of the villain's right hand men and Lloyd's long lost father. He turns out to be helping the heroes from inside the villain's organization. I chose Neil since he's a mentor who seems to be working with the villains; time will tell if he's friend or foe. Plus, Kratos is secretly working with Zelos, who's Jerome.
I kept Neil's collar, and I used the jacket over his shoulder for the shape of his cloak. Neil wears a lot of blue, so I made that his color.
Since they're from different worlds, I used colored pencils for Neil and markers for Rosa. (The background was markers and pencil for both.)
Since Kratos and Lloyd share a wing color, I used Rosa's red.
I wanted it to look like they were about to duel, so I had them facing each other. From there, I had the idea to have some of the others in themed pairs.
For the background, I chose the Mushroom Garden background to represent Origin's Forest, the site of their big duel. I wonder who'll win?
I want to mention these will contain spoilers for Tales of Symphonia!
Then we have the Chosens of the two worlds. Jerome Adams as Tethe'allan's Chosen, Zelos Wilder, and Luke Pearce as Sylvarant's, Colette Brunel.
Just like Luke and Rosa, Collete and Rosa are childhood friends with the potential for romance. A big plot point is Colette hiding the truth of the journey, just as Luke hides his illness. (She even hides an illness too, much later in the story.) I can vividly see the scene where Lloyd tricks Colette into revealing how bad her symptoms are with Luke and Rosa. Plus, in Luke's Secret of the Tomb card, he was originally the one chosen by the church.
The red jewel thing is a Key Crest. Colette's is a gift crafted by Lloyd, so I turned Luke's into his key.
I based the colors off of Luke's casual outfit, accenting with gold since it's his thematic color. I tried to experiment with lighting from different directions; I tried to have him be lit from behind.
For the wings, I used their thematic colors.
I chose Jerome because Zelos is the moral wild card. He turns out to be working with all sides, though he ultimately lands on your side in most endings. Jerome represents the one where he doesn't. Jerome also fits with Zelos's playful nature; he'd definitely call the guys 'bud'.
I added the lapel of Jerome's lab coat, and, if you look closely, his sword has the Gladiolus symbol. For the colors, I swapped around the colors of his coat and shirt. He's lit from below, since that's often a sinister angle.
For his wings, I associate Jerome with blue-gray (like the sky in a certain confrontation scene).
For the backgrounds, I chose the Altar background to represent the Tower of Salvation, the final trial of the Chosen's journey. I didn't initially intend for these drawings to be a set, but I think they make a cool contrast to each other.
Next up is Artem Wing as Regal Bryant, the CEO of the Lezarano Company.
I did initially choose Marius for this one, but I have other plans for the Von Hagens. For Artem, I wanted someone who acts as a mentor to our heroes. They have similar personalities; Artem could definitely pull of Regal's deadpan's humor. And Regal has a strong sense of justice, turning himself in. Plus, as a leader of Themis, Artem is quite wealthy.
I kept Artem's belt and his pin. I looked at his AU cards for his hair.
For the colors, I went for the blue-gray of his suit and highlighted with blue, like Artem's eyes.
For the background, I used the Rooftop Terrace as the roof of Lezarano, where an important scene between Regal and Presea takes place. Although I haven't decided who is Presea in this AU.
Vyn is a perfect match for Raine. They're both silver-haired teachers and the healers of their groups.
I tried to pull bits from each of their normal outfits. For Vyn, I added his collar, his waistcoast, and his lanyard. For his hair, I used some inspiration from his Dragonbreath sprite.
When I started coloring this AU, I wasn't sure to use my colored pencils or markers. So I ended up splitting them between the two. If you've seen my Wizardess Heart set, I flipped them around this time. The Sylvaranti characters with marker, and the Tethe'allan with pencils. The last few still use both!
I went back and forth on whether to use colors from their outfits or using their thematic colors. Since the Symphonia characters wear bright colors, using their thematic colors seemed more in the spirit of the game.
I tried to use backgrounds from ToT to represent locations in Symphonia. The Faerie Cottage backgrounds stands in for Reitz, the village our heroes come from.

Here are the summary of my art in 2025, which is mainly about pandas and also my newest drawing of this year!
"buon anno" means "happy year" as for "happy new year" in Italian.
Below there are some personal thoughts I want to share, but you can skip them if you're not interested.
I know I've been really inactive. I don't draw much. My creativity is at my lowest. My life is a mess that I can't organise. I can't manage to sort and actually do what I want to do.
My job is taking so much of my time and energy that at the end of the day I can't even doodle something and I just play games.
I'm a complete, depressed mess, really.
However, one thing I did do last year was to draw pandas. Lots of pandas. ๐ผ๐ผ๐ผ
All thanks to a couple of customers which love my little doodles on their coffee card.
Then, last month I thought it could be a good idea to make a summary of the year and as expected it's full of pandas! Sadly, October was a busy month and I only drew one thing different than usual because I had little time and no ideas for a new panda ๐ญ
I'm really happy how this summary turned out and I hope I can draw more, not only pandas.
I still need to do a personal "new year resolution" thing and set a big project to work on so I can get more productive and improve.
I hope in a few months I can look back and be a bit more proud of myself. (my self esteem is at a low point atm)
Until then, I'll try to be more positive (begone depression! ๐ญ) and do something, little by little.
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a good day/night/time! ๐
Finally, we have Leon as Tabatha, the android who becomes Martel's vessel.
I've always thought Leon had a lot in common with the robot archetype, learning about emotions and all that. Plus, just as Tabatha resembles Martel, Leon resembles the design I use for Lacan.
His coloring, too, echoes Lacan. His skin and hair were done with markers, his clothes with pencils.
Like the two Felixes, Lacan and Leon are front and back. The faint outline of Lacan stands behind him.
For the background, I used the special tree from Mel's route to represent the new world tree, which Tabatha becomes the spirit of.
