Leorio is more than just a comfort character to me; he’s my F/O, my partner, and the love of my life. Our relationship means everything to me. It’s silly, sweet, and full of warmth.

We’re that couple that bickers over nothing and then cuddles five minutes later. I’m chaotic, clingy, and lowkey embarrassing, but he never minds, he always has that flustered little smile, like he’s trying to act annoyed but secretly thinks it’s cute. He calls me out when I go too far, but he always holds my hand after.

He’s so passionate and loud, but also soft and kind in the quietest ways. He tries to act cool and composed, but he’s such a dork and I love him for it. He makes me feel safe. He makes me feel seen. And even when I’m being weird or dramatic, he never pulls away…he’s all in. Always.

Our love isn’t perfect, but it’s real. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. He’s mine, and I’m his.

7. What’s a piece of canon lore that absolutely had to change for your selfship to work?

Honestly… none of it. 😭 I’m pretty content with Leorio’s canon as it is. ALTHOUGH.. There was ONE thing I struggled with pretty badly at first….the whole…”gender examination” scene during the Hunter Exam. I remember changing it a bit in my head because it made me super freaking uncomfortable when I first watched that episode. But over time I decided that, even if it’s a moment I personally disagree with, it’s still part of his story. Leorio is my partner, flaws and all, and I don’t want to rewrite who he is just to make myself more comfortable. I’d rather accept the parts of canon I don’t like than pretend they never happened. 🫶🏻💕

12. What’s an important event in your f/o’s canon that would help others understand them better?

Without a doubt, Leorio’s childhood and the loss of his friend!!! That part of his backstory explains so much about who he is. He didn’t decide to become a doctor because it sounded impressive, he became one because he experienced what it was like to lose someone he cared about simply just because they couldn’t afford proper medical care. His dream of making money isn’t rooted in greed at all…it’s because he never wants to be powerless in that way again. All the pain and suffering he went through shaped him into the compassionate, determined, and selfless man he is today, and it’s one of the biggest reasons I love him so much. My Lele… my precious Lele awwghh. 🥹💕

HIHIHI!! YES!!! Oh my gosh, yes!! Leorio is always reminding Jolie to take her meds because she forgets all the time. She’s on medication for quite a few things, so missing them can really throw off her whole day. He’s constantly checking in, reminding her, and even handing her a glass of water to take them with. Such a sweet boyfriend. The lele.. Awghh.🥺💕

Also YESSS, Jolie remembers the most random pieces of Leorio lore imaginable. She knows about his least favorite sound, his favorite vegetable, what brand of hair gel he uses, and just a ton of other silly little details that most people wouldn’t even think to remember. Leorio is… well, at first he was kind of awkward when it came to hugs. I was always the one initiating them, and he’d just freeze up in my arms, blush, and ask what I was doing. But after we’d been together for a while, he started initiating them more often himself. His hugs turned into these really long sweet embraces where he’d rest his head against me and snuggle close. Of course, if you asked him about it, he’d insist he was only doing it because I was warm and he was cold and simply using me as a human heater. Totally not because he likes cuddling or anything. Snuggly Oreo man. :’)🩷💕

And hehe… for your second assumption…when Leorio is really happy or excited, he’ll randomly dance with me, give me a kiss, and then run off before I can properly react. He’s silly like that. And yes, he absolutely loves sweeping me off my feet literally XD That man has given me so many piggyback rides at this point.

Okay, so Leorio definitely has his clingy moments… He usually gets extra clingy when he’s sick, sleepy, or intoxicated. In those moments, he just wants to hold me, rest his head on my shoulder and use me as a pillow until he falls asleep. So freaking precious. 😭💞

But whenever I wear a new outfit? That’s a whole different level of clingy!!! Suddenly he’s standing suspiciously close to me, wrapping his arms around me every chance he gets, and subtly making sure nobody else is looking my way. He is ABSOLUTELY the jealous type . The funniest part is that he acts like he isn’t jealous at all when it’s so obvious that he is. Ah I love him. The Oreo. <3
